Landing on a closed runway

Wait, It's NOT illegal to land on an X'd closed runway? No way, I'm sure they'd call it being reckless or something to that degree.

As I stated in an earlier response. There's no FAA prohibition on landing on closed runways. Unless doing so violates 91.13, the FAA doesn't care.

HOWEVER, the local government or whoever owns the airport may have SERIOUS issues with you landing on the closed field. You may find yourself detained by the locals or have your plane impounded.

Chicago politics. The whole state is run by Chicago. Corruption at it's finest, started by that mayors father.

Well there was Al Capone, goes back a bit further I think. Chicago was like wild west New York, there wasn't much regulation or control back in the old days but really it ain't no different from Kansas City other than bigger.

Well the FAA is initiating enforcement action against the three that landed on the closed runway at KANK per the airport manager.

Tell me which FAR says you can't land at a closed airport?

Lots have used parallel taxiways when runway was closed. What say legal pundits to that?

The FAA juridiction on the ground stops at airports. No FAA juridiction on non-airport landings. The jurisdiction lies with whoever owns the land. Now, closed airports, hmm....
