Is there a Pt135 for Dummies?

Some of my past oral questions: The company secretary calls you, the pilot, and says Mr Smith wants to fly tomorrow, so get the airplane ready to depart at 10am.

Can you accept the trip?

Or, you are flying a group of hunters to a ranch in West Texas. They show up with all of their gear, and you notice the main passenger is wearing a holster with his favorite revolver he always takes with him. Can you let him board?

One of the hunters has obviously had one too many, smells of alcohol, and has a box with several bottles of expensive whiskey he wants in the main cabin.

Can you let him board?

You plan to depart on a night 135 flight. You discovered the runway lights are out of service. Can you still depart with runway lights out of service?

While flying a coupled autopilot ILS at what altitude must the autopilot be disengaged?

Can we carry an electric wheelchair? What needs to be done with the battery?

Terminal Visual Flight Rules, Limitations and Provisions (OpSpec C077) Under what conditions may a crewmember accept a visual approach?

Lower than standard takeoff minima (OpSpec C079)

And lots, lots more. 14 CFR Part 135.293 (a) (1, 4-8)

They’re big on weapons and HAZMAT. Probably asked the “any weapons or HAZMAT in your bags?” a thousand times. Essentially I’m acting as TSA…and should get paid extra. ;)
