That was my same thought. Caravans do have a certain "cool" factor to them, like a Hummer H1, but they definitely have their niche market and have only specific roles they're good for.All that money to go 145kts in an unpressurized can?
Agreed! I've never been impressed with their performance numbers in the slightest. First time I saw a Caravan in the flesh, I said to myself "whoa that thing is huge, I bet it's a beast!"All that money to go 145kts in an unpressurized can? No, thanks.

LTNS!
How have you been? LTNH.

That thought quickly changed once I learned about them shortly there after.
"That's it?!"
Still a nice airplane, nonetheless.
Yeah, but... training wheels.I have an extended family of 10 persons.
Most of them like to go to three places, all of which are between 300-350 miles from here.
Most GA aircraft are unpressurized cans. But this is a big can, with comfy seats--perfect for a two hour trip.
Crap. Spidey's back.
Put it on amphib floats.
Make the interior like a decent camper.
Give me the money for unlimited fuel.
And then I will take it.
Thanks! Are you now traveling with a string quartet?
Welcome back!

Yes, this was my thought too when I saw one at OSH years ago on amphibs. The ultimate motor home!
You wanna Caravan? - I wanna a pony !
NoDo you need a commercial cert to be pic due to the number of seats?

A friend of mine had one and said you could not put a *Grand* Caravan on floats, only the regular Caravan. No idea if that's true.
Yeah to be honest I doubted it when he said that.
The pony I want is called a Mustang !I had a pony, I'll take the Caravan, thank you (less work).
One could act as PIC of a 747 while holding a PPL if their wallet was big enough. The number of seats does not matter.Do you need a commercial cert to be pic due to the number of seats?
Yeah, I don't know where I got the idea that ppl limit was 6 on board from, I thought I read it in a far, but I certainly cant find anything like that looking now.One could act as PIC of a 747 while holding a PPL if their wallet was big enough. The number of seats does not matter.
Seat numbers come into play with 135 and 121 certificates.Yeah, I don't know where I got the idea that ppl limit was 6 on board from, I thought I read it in a far, but I certainly cant find anything like that looking now.

How would that apply?Maybe confusing it with basic med?
