How many of you have tattoos?

Do you have a tattoo?

I have a GSD pic on my left upper arm (deltoid). It was done from a picture of a dog I had for years. He was a great dog!
He looks like a Shepherd but if I push up on him, he looks like a Husky. I'm sure when I get way older he will look more like a charpe.:D
I also have a silver loop in my left ear....or is it right....no, left.

A little. You did not see what I did over on the red board today. I think I resurrected about 6 threads.

But this one was not for the same reason. I was trying to decide how to tell about my new tattoo(s). But then I decided I should wait until I get a photo.

I got six little paw prints a couple of weeks ago. One for each of the special cats I have had in my life. So I guess that brings me up to 7 total individual tattoos or just two if you groups the paws as one.
I was afraid you had a tattoo of a particular Chinese delicacy. :hairraise:

I think, if you want to be reeeeaaaalllly rich.
Invent a machine, in oh, about 10 -15 years that safely, completely and painlessly removes tattoos from all those young, skinny people with them now.

A group of dermatoligists are waiting on FDA approval for a type of tattoo ink that is permanent until exposed to a laser of a specific wavelength, at which time it dissolves and disappears.
These guys are going to do well if it gets approved.

Well, the one that I had I decided to have redone ... so it went from about a 3" circle sort of thing to a quarter sleeve! Top of my shoulder down to about three inches above my elbow! But I like it ... :D

Best tattoo I've ever seen was on a skydiver's left arm. It showed Snoopy's dog house going down in flames with Snoopy shaking his fist in absolute rage while under canopy.

Last I saw the fellow, he was flying jumpers down in Sebastian, Fl.

BTW... I hate getting shots at the doctors office. Why would I get a needle stuck in me a few thousand times?

If those two things were equivalent, I'd be right there with ya, Andy! Sure glad they aren't!

What's the deal with every younger girl having the tattoo in the small of her back so when the bend over you can see the tatoo, thong, and practically everything else.

Anthony, are you feeling OK? :dunno:

For all of you that have tattoos, I don't, You are gonna leave a lot of questions to those nursing home folks when ya get old.

There gonna wonder what all of those sagging smudge thingys are and what'd ya did do to get 'em.:hairraise:

That is why I keep 'em simple and only one color. It will help stop them form being a smudge in later life.

Grayscale, son ... grayscale - stays where ya put it! ;)

And when I'm 85, I'm gonna have more important things to attend to, I do believe! :)

Kinda has a whole Flintstone thing going on with the dress. I wonder if Nick would 'hit it' ;)

Twice before she realized I'd hit it the first time.

I've considered getting a life size tattoo of myself.

I've seen Nick's 'arm smudge'. It's not much more than anything you'd expect to see on the grease monkey down at the quickie lube.

Wow - about 2 years late it looks, but I might have to actually post a pic to defend my arm honor now!

My wife wanted one last year, and I decided to get one as well. Becky had a few flowers placed on her right ankle and then I had my wings put on my right arm. My neighbor owns a shop in Lansdale, so we talked to him about it and then ended up going over one weekend. Becky's has color, and took about 1.5 hrs, and mine is black and greyscale, and took about 2 hrs.

Growing up, flying radio-control airplanes, my dad always called me "ACE". Sometimes good, sometimes bad, but something I always remember. For a while, when ever he would come to the RC field I'd end up crashing HARD. So, after finishing my 65" wingspan Corsair, he still hasn't seen it in person but rather watches the video online. :D

So,.. My wings are in greyscale, and I did them in Photoshop first, printed them out, and taped them on my arm. I'm planning to either get snoopy on my arm flying the doghouse, or a C152, just above the wings. (can't go below because of work when wearing short sleeve dress shirts) That will wait till after I finish up,.. cause that money can go in the fuel tanks! :blueplane:
They look better now, not all red and stuff, but I don't have a current photo on the PC.

Diablo Cody. She came up with that as an online persona.

I didn't see the Wilma Flintstone dress until I finally watched the awards on the TiVo last night. Funnee.

So there I was in Freeport, Maine, today, waiting to donate blood to a family whose children were severely injured while en route to a school outing at a ski area. I picked up a copy of Portland PHOENIX newspaper to read. On the front page was a photo promoting an article about a new tattoo studio. What further caught my attention was the name of the author/columnist, Deirdre Fulton. Bingo! Deirdre was "Ado Annie", my daughter, in the September production of "Oklahoma." Back to the thread, here's her story: http://thephoenix.com/article_ektid56702.aspx

I hope you gave blood before seeing Deirdre about that tattoo! (And good on you for donating!)

) I haven't seen Deirdre since the "Oklahoma" cast party on September 30. And back on November 16 of 2006, in this thread, I posted that I'd not have a tat.

The four children and their mother were extracted from the wreckage of their vehicle which went on a wild skidding accident on icy roads to the ski area.
Two of the kids have been released from the hospital; two are still still there.
There was a huge turnout for the well-publicized blood drive for the family. I hated to leave, so good were the cookies, brownies, and juices.

And that's a problem why?

Actually, you said you wouldn't have a cat and a tat. :D It was over a year ago and I didn't remember anyway! :p:no: (I had to go back and check!)

I give every 2 - 3 mos; the blood bank comes to my office, which makes it easy! You never know when you might need to be on the recipient end of one of those needles.:fcross:

I cannot give blood. The last time I went to try I left feeling like I was about to die.

The reasons they cited were; Exposure to mad cow disease (I lived in the UK in the 80's), exposure to Malaria (I just got back from over seas), I take aspirin every day (over 40, docs says take it), tattoos (7 little ones of them now). I can see why there is a shortage of blood. It seems that they really exclude a large population of people from giving. I am surprised anyone is even able to donate.

I get called regularly(within scope of physical permissibility), having B-Neg. type(which I'm told is possessed by less than 1% of the world population). I bleed like the proverbial stuck pig; technicians are always amazed that I'm up and off the table in pretty short order. And when done I'm ready to move out; however, the technicians now pretty much sit a donor down for some period for "recovery." I once was called by Sister Nerita at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bangor, Maine. A blue baby had been born, the condition apparently requiring a lot of blood, and very few B-Neg(s) had been located in several hours' drive time.
I went to work at the radio station and then to the hospital. After donating, and refusing the rest period because of air-time constraints, Sister Nerita asked, Mr. Crute, do you have transportation back to your work place?" Upon my affirmative answer she said, "And how shall you return to your place of work?" When I replied, "Oh, I have my Harley-Davidson out in the parking lot," I thought Sister Nerita was going to faint.

For lack of blood supply, the new baby and the mother were flown to Boston on a Dow Air Force Base jet. Probably only Dr. Bruce will peg the time frame on how long ago that occurred.

"Cute. Just wait until you're married and pregnant, and that little dolphin turns into a grey whale!"
LOL!!!
That's one prob I have with tattoos- they fade and change over time. Most look like crap after a coupla years, although it's always neat to hear some old-timer talk about the stories behind some grey-green blobs on his arms; back in the day a tattoo really meant something- it was to mark a milestone or signifcant event in your life, not to be fashionable.
Now that even grammas are getting tats, they're not very "edgy" anymore... "conformity of rebellion"... yawn.

So I've never had much interest in them. Maybe it's my Jewish blood, who knows? :D

I also hate needles... and could never decide on a design anyway... although I've considered getting a little tattoo of every type plane I've flown, if I found the right pics to base them on.

If I ever find a way to get a DC-3 type rating (one of those Lottery dreams), I might get a big DC-3 in plan view done on my whole back... :D
