Celebrate responsibly.
113 years actually.103 years since they flew the first powered LSA.
113 years actually.
You don't need a medical for an LSA if you have a drivers license - but did they have one of those? No C of A, no insurance, no medical, no type rating, no tech log sign offs, no transponder, not even a sectional. Worst of all no PoA forum for advice. Its a miracle they survived.
It was tough for them, too.Tough this time of year.

They are true American Heroes.
Btw read David McCullough's book on the Wright Bros this year. Great book and amazing story leading up to the flight. Should be required reading
Buy your mechanic one, because they wouldn't have done it without Charles Taylor. What is the protocol for this holiday? Do we buy a gift for our plane?
This was yet another day in history that not a single student of mine had a clue about. D-day. Nope, Moon landing. Nope, End of ww2. Nope, teacher appreciation day. Nope, On and on and on. I wonder what the heck they learn in school these days?
On my written final test for freshman, one of the questions is " who was the first person to step foot on the moon", multiple choice answers were ; Neil diamond , Neil Armstrong , Louise Armstrong , some commie bastard. 30% of them got it wrong!
Noted. I will correct my test and include the inventor of the airplane and inventor of the moon walk!Come on, everyone knows Gustave Whitehead was the first man on the moon. Who are you trying to kid?
None of the above, we all know that it was a hoax. Unlike chemtrails. On my written final test for freshman, one of the questions is " who was the first person to step foot on the moon", multiple choice answers were ; Neil diamond , Neil Armstrong , Louise Armstrong , some commie bastard. 30% of them got it wrong!
I'm sorry Geoff, I'm going to have to ask you to reevaluate your time here, we do not support your negative views towards great accomplishments in American history. I'm going to have to pur you in a time out, then you will have to clean the chalk board and the erasers!None of the above, we all know that it was a hoax. Unlike chemtrails.

No, but we have a couple in our storage room that I would like to put up. I love sound of chalk screeching in the morning! You still use a chalkboard???
A lot of the classrooms where I work still have chalk boards. You still use a chalkboard???
I have a giant white board that I don't like all that much and I have one of those "smart boards" that is useless and pointless so I use it as my video screen for the projector. The issue with the whiteboards is that they don't last all that long and after a couple years they start to "ghost", where the markers don't really remove the, serve and leave a faint imprint that shows through. Chalk just has this nice nostalgic feel to it.A lot of the classrooms where I work still have chalk boards.
They work.
Chalk doesn't dry out like markers.
Not unless you include Michael Jackson.Noted. I will correct my test and include the inventor of the airplane and inventor of the moon walk!
