Beautiful. Thank you. And many thanks to all the Vets today and every day.
I'll say thanks to all the vets, and to all those who are thanking the vets, you are welcome. My brother tried to get me to go to the HyVee store to get a free breakfast, but I passed. I told him that I stood in the chow line waiting to get fed enough to last me a lifetime. He texted me later and told me there was a line out the door.
I'll bet you are right. I don't know what the temp is in Nebraska, but it was 22 degrees with the wind blowing this morning. A little cold for standing out in a parking lot, waiting to get fed.
To this day I can't wait 5 mins in line to eat.
The problem is 90% of the people in line were never in the service.

The only freebie I intent to take advantage of is a free hour of lane time at Centennial Gun Club, and then I'm going to buy a membership.
I just finished breakfast prep for a full-house of veterans and active duty service men and women. In seven hours my daughter will finish each basket, and deliver them to our special guests, where they will enjoy breakfast in their rooms.
We have every military branch represented here tonight, and every war, going back to WWII. We are humbled to be in the presence of these fine people, and honored to buy them a free night for their service.
We will do it again next year, 11/11/15, if any of you veterans are interested. Give us a call.
Still nice and warm here, I'm going to bicycle over to Applebees and Chilies
Amazingly, no lines! I had a burger and fries on the house and hoisted a few mugs of beer with a couple of other vets. Not a bad way to spend the afternoon.
Sat next to a Vietnam helicopter pilot last night at a local bar. I insisted on buying drinks - thinking it'd be a few beers - but instead he wanted to do Fireball shots. It was Veteran's Day, who the hell am I to argue?
This has *not* been a happy morning for me.
