To all our former service men and women, Happy Veterans Day! Thank you for your service.

Thanks Vets.

Thanks for their service,to all vets.

Just came from a moving service at our high school. Thanks to all who have served!

I'll say thanks to all the vets, and to all those who are thanking the vets, you are welcome. My brother tried to get me to go to the HyVee store to get a free breakfast, but I passed. I told him that I stood in the chow line waiting to get fed enough to last me a lifetime. He texted me later and told me there was a line out the door.

To this day I can't wait 5 mins in line to eat.

The problem is 90% of the people in line were never in the service. :rolleyes2: :nono:

I'll bet you are right. I don't know what the temp is in Nebraska, but it was 22 degrees with the wind blowing this morning. A little cold for standing out in a parking lot, waiting to get fed.

Thanks to all who send the good wishes. Although I am a veteran (US Navy, Viet Nam era) I was never sent in harm's way. I take off my hat to all those who were in combat, and of course to those brave souls who paid the ultimate price. God bless them, and may He continue to look after our servicemen and women, and their families.

The only freebie I intent to take advantage of is a free hour of lane time at Centennial Gun Club, and then I'm going to buy a membership.

Thanks to all those who have served, are serving, and will serve. Your sacrifices are appreciated!

Still nice and warm here, I'm going to bicycle over to Applebees and Chilies (across the street from each other) after work and see how bad the lines are.

Dollar General is giving all vets 11 percent off today. It's a nice gesture on their part, even though nothing they sell is pricey enough for it to amount to much. I may stop by and buy something, though, just to show my appreciation of their appreciation.

Got to fly my first Navy aircraft today...kind of. :wink2: Proud to have served!

They started up an IDPA weekly shoot. I'm tempted to put it on the calendar.

Thank you, to current and former. I didn't serve, and I regret it. I appreciate those who do, and have.

I just finished breakfast prep for a full-house of veterans and active duty service men and women. In seven hours my daughter will finish each basket, and deliver them to our special guests, where they will enjoy breakfast in their rooms.

We have every military branch represented here tonight, and every war, going back to WWII. We are humbled to be in the presence of these fine people, and honored to buy them a free night for their service.

We will do it again next year, 11/11/15, if any of you veterans are interested. Give us a call.

That is an amazing jesture Jay. Thank you!

Amazingly, no lines! I had a burger and fries on the house and hoisted a few mugs of beer with a couple of other vets. Not a bad way to spend the afternoon.

Sat next to a Vietnam helicopter pilot last night at a local bar. I insisted on buying drinks - thinking it'd be a few beers - but instead he wanted to do Fireball shots. It was Veteran's Day, who the hell am I to argue?

This has *not* been a happy morning for me. ;)
