Bro do you even lift
"avid pilot", so figured I won't get banned for posting this.

I thought he was a great actor.

his wife was THIRTY years younger than him.

also, the media:

"There were no obvious signs of death. Their deaths were "suspicious enough in nature to require a thorough search and investigation" due to all of the "circumstances surrounding" the scene, according to the search warrant affidavit."

the very next paragraph:

"The Academy Award-winning actor was found on the floor in the mud room, according to the search warrant. It appeared he fell suddenly, and he and his wife "showed obvious signs of death," the document said."

"Her body showed signs of decomposition, the document said. There was mummification to her hands and feet, the document said."

besides poor, contradictory writing, it could be argued that not breathing, decomposition and mummification are all obvious signs of death. but that's just me.

"I was gonna make espresso"

According to the registry, his last medical was a 3rd Class issued in 1995, no BasicMed.

Private Pilot Airplane Single Engine Land certificate last issued Jan 6, 1994.

Did he file a flight plan?

Damn

He was one of the best

Unforgiven, crimson Tide, Bat 21, etc etc

BSBD

Seeing it was him and wife and pup, wonder if was a CO issue

It's kind of crazy to me that none of the media obits I've seen have mentioned crimson tide. To me that was one of his absolute best.

I read a comment somewhere that mentioned Hackman’s acting: “When he was in a scene you saw the character, not the actor.”

Unforgiven is one of my “stranded on a desert island” movies.

Reporting is a joke any more. I saw other reports of being bloated and mummified. For those that work death scenes, you really can’t be both as they are different stages of death. That’s like saying a very moist dehydrated snack.

I had no idea he was a pilot. One of my favorite actors overall.

The report I saw was a quote from the deputies, "obvious signs of death, body decomposition, bloating in her face and mummification in both hands and feet".

But, sure, blame the reporter.

assuming the reporter recorded the quote correctly...

Also that lack of class of the media and police.

Report should have said, he died at home with his wife, no foul play is suspect, please respect the family at this time, we all morn the loss of a great actor and pianist

Well, multiple publications released the same quote. So they all either got it wrong in the same way, or it's actually what the deputy wrote/said.

maybe. But repetition is not proof of accuracy. how many times have reporters repeated what someone else has reported?

(do you get the idea that I don't trust reporters?)

Yup…kinda like the “was he screaming?” question from a reporter when it was noted that the pilot was still alive in the burning plane when the firefighters got there. Footage made all 3 networks.

Where do you get your news from?

I have some memories of being given incorrect or misleading info from teachers before, but that didn't cause me to discard formal education as a whole.

That's just because you accepted and believed the rest of the lies.

Oh good grief!!!

It’s not all or nothing. God forbid anyone not immediately trust everything being reported

Advice that's given by no one.

Its just that my relatives who constantly bash journalism as a concept and use terms such as "lamestream media" seem to get their news from social media memes instead.

Honestly, that’s probably a better source of information these days

I don’t even watch the “news” anymore

Said well, oddly someone who was in the same scene with Hackman I posted

Everything he said seems to be from the "How to be Successful at Social Media" playbook.
Journalism is not blameless. But you can't honestly pretend that the concept of 'being first' does not translate to success in social media virality.

Getting your news from an algorithmic Twitter feed instead of actual journalists is like telling your doctor that you'll ignore his advice and drink sewer water instead since there are likely trace amounts of his prescribed medication in there somewhere.

Ah, not everyone is like your relatives

I don’t think Mr Washington was saying to get your “information” from social media ether.

These days what’s old is new, want some information best to get it first hand or from someone you personally know and consider it 1/2 true

The one I read had just the bloated and mummified part without hands and feet.

That was my first thought as well, but maybe not.

Investigators have called the deaths "suspicious" as they found no obvious signs of a gas leak, no signs of foul play, and nothing out of place at the sprawling property. Adding to the mystery was that one dog, a German Shepherd, was found dead and two other dogs were found alive on the property.

From what I read, it sounded like the dead dog was in a kennel. The other two were not, and had access to a doggy door. So, I'd guess one died from either the CO or whatever killed the two people, or from lack of food and water, and the other two were able to get outside and find what they needed, as dogs do.
