"avid pilot", so figured I won't get banned for posting this.

I thought he was a great actor.

his wife was THIRTY years younger than him.

also, the media:

"There were no obvious signs of death. Their deaths were "suspicious enough in nature to require a thorough search and investigation" due to all of the "circumstances surrounding" the scene, according to the search warrant affidavit."

the very next paragraph:

"The Academy Award-winning actor was found on the floor in the mud room, according to the search warrant. It appeared he fell suddenly, and he and his wife "showed obvious signs of death," the document said."

"Her body showed signs of decomposition, the document said. There was mummification to her hands and feet, the document said."

besides poor, contradictory writing, it could be argued that not breathing, decomposition and mummification are all obvious signs of death. but that's just me.

"I was gonna make espresso"

According to the registry, his last medical was a 3rd Class issued in 1995, no BasicMed.

Private Pilot Airplane Single Engine Land certificate last issued Jan 6, 1994.

Did he file a flight plan?

It's kind of crazy to me that none of the media obits I've seen have mentioned crimson tide. To me that was one of his absolute best.

I read a comment somewhere that mentioned Hackman’s acting: “When he was in a scene you saw the character, not the actor.”

Unforgiven is one of my “stranded on a desert island” movies.

Reporting is a joke any more. I saw other reports of being bloated and mummified. For those that work death scenes, you really can’t be both as they are different stages of death. That’s like saying a very moist dehydrated snack.

I had no idea he was a pilot. One of my favorite actors overall.
