I was on a flight down to Florida when I heard ATC call another aircraft. "I have an amendment for you. I don't know why but it's a long one. Let me know when you are ready to copy. I'll spell the waypoints for you."It seems whenever I get comfortable while IMC ,I get a long change of route. Usually not a simple change,most times I have to have the controller spell the new waypoints.
Same thing with a holding clearance!And that's when you go VFR

What followed was a very nice controller slowly and carefully reading out a fairly long complex clearance, spelling each waypoint as he went.
I hope I get a clearance from that guy some day.
Anybody ever fly out of KSQL? They publish a 2 page departure clearance for VFR....

The published IFR DP is pretty reasonable. The one they really give you is not. But it's essentially just a VFR right downwind departure.
