First plane to fly without “Flaps”

Last time I checked my Decathlon...has no flaps...

Typical fake news. The Wright flyer had no ailerons!!.....Or "flaps!"

The use of air blown at "supersonic speeds" is also likely completely wrong.

My first RC model only had dihedral and a rudder.

Maybe the first without moveable aerodynamic surfaces? Wing warping and the LSA wing above all seem to be moveable aerodynamic surfaces to me.

The X15, and I am sure others, used a reaction control system in some phases. But possibly in conjunction with control surfaces.

"First in history without flaps!" sounds much more glamorous than the first to fly with active flow control as the only control effectors, but the latter means a lot more to people who follow that kind of thing. It's impressive, despite the eye-rolling errors in the article.
