From Seat 1B of @Rgbeard 's Turbo Lance yesterday. At left of the photo is Phoenix International Raceway (or whatever sponsored name it has now), where a NASCAR race, with my wife and son in attendance, was in progress.



Some of the Billy-Bob jets at Goodyear (GYR). This is normally the piston-engine transient ramp, but not on NASCAR weekend. The good ol' boys take over this real estate, while the little guys are shoved up to the north forty.

Those are the graves of a couple of the owners of the land that the airport was later built on.

Not sure about the history of the graves. From what I was told by GND, they, and a few more out in the grass, are the graves of people whose families could not be contacted for relocation upon extension of runway 10/28.
