Hahaha!

That’s the first thing they teach in Boy Scouts - never **** into the wind! :p

Awesome Comanche 400.!!!

Love the sound of 8 cylinders..!!!
Those things are so cool. There was a red one for sale when I was shopping for a pa32; its probably a good thing I have so many kids or I would've bought it.

Have you seen Mike pateys latest video where he starts his current build? Modified io720 and it sounds AMAZING.

lol this is freakin fantastic......posted in a local pilot FB group...

Who wants to safety pilot for me AND pay for half of the flight?!? Pretty please?

.....just to make sure.....do people actually do that? That sounds crazy. Or maybe I’m asking the wrong people to be safety pilots....

I can personally vouch for your sometimes questionable choice of safety pilot....

It was an ideal morning for aerial social distancing today.

Fall colors, desert style, along the Gila River south of Buckeye AZ:

Then I circled around Saddle Mountain, a 3,037' MSL volcanic outcropping about 60 miles west of Phoenix, a favorite of local campers and hikers.

Snow? No, cotton. Egyptian cotton, used in the manufacture of tire cords, thrives in this climate. That's what brought the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. to the valley in the early 20th Century.

Well this is funny, this was my first flight since getting my iPhone 12 and I was playing with the camera a lot. I took this picture of the small town I went to school in and have a lot of friends in- Pittsfield, IL. My course just happens to take me by there a lot.

So I snapped this and just happened to post it to a FB group for things of local interest and now someone from the local paper is asking me to send it to him with info about when/where/why. Lol I was just flying home and seeing what my new phone camera could do.

From this morning's 1.3-hour round-robin sightseeing flight ...

UAL 737 Maxes ready to come out of the shadows:

Weaver's Needle, in the Superstition Mountains east of Phoenix. Local folklore tells of the Lost Dutchman's Mine supposedly somewhere in this area, and that the shadow of Weaver's Needle is a clue to its location -- but no one knows how.

I'm pretty sure I saw the mine as I was flying over, but I'm not saying where it is. :p:D

Downtown Phoenix from the other side of Camelback Mountain:

Phoenix's mid-town Financial District along North Central Avenue:

Goodyear Airport's recently-expanded tiedown area:

Finished up my insurance required transition training tonight, and got my complex sign-off. Shot this as I was putting her back in the hangar. I'm really kicking myself for forgetting to take a picture when I loaded her up with soybean seed bags to do some flying at max gross.

Golly that’s a purty airplane! :)

How was the transition from the Archer into that?

Soybean seed bags? I've emptied more than my share of those into the planter. Is that just what you had on hand? Of all the ballast I could think of, soybean seed would be at the bottom of the list.

Thanks, I'm partial to her myself ;)
When we brought her home, I didn't think 10 hours would be enough, but after about 5 I was comfortable. Once you get used to that long nose and a lot more right rudder, it flies like any other airplane, even at 3600 lbs.

I needed about 400lbs. The bags were a bit under 60 lbs ea, easy to handle, tough, and wouldn't slide around. I asked one of my salesmen and he brought some leftovers from last year he had laying around.

The insurance lady suggested asking the fd for a couple Rescue Randy's, but i figured this was easier. I genuinely couldn't think of anything better. Maybe sand bags....but I'd have to buy those. Lead shot has gotten too expensive. Ive got enough barbell weights, but i was afraid they might slide around and tear something up. Self loading cargo is easy, but i don't think insurance would've liked that.
