It’s always been my dream to fly as a permanent first officer in a small, lessor known regional airline. I have no previous flight training and I’m in the process of getting my Class I flight physical.

While filling out the MedExpresso thingy, I believe I had a Vagal Response to question 18 on disability benefits because I passed out. When I awoke, I realized the form had been submitted with “no” marked. Not sure if that was my ADHD kicking in but I must have completely forgotten to check “yes” in that box. Nothing major that would keep me from flying but I get 20 % disability from Athletes Foot and Erectile Dysfunction...plus another 80 % for “undiagnosed pain.” So I’m wondering if I can recall the form to correct it, or should I just wait til I see the AME since I have a few questions for him about what constitutes a DUI anyway? Thank you for your input.

If you were a little less than sober at the time of completing the form, I’d think the FAA would understand and let you correct such an easy mistake.

Just be aware, Cialis isn’t an approved FAA medication and could come with some significant implications if you take it before flight.

Similar thing happened to me except I accidentally checked yes. I certainly didn't mean to as I'm genetically perfect, almost like a god, really. FAA only allows me to fly aircraft capable of mach 1.13 and higher and I must maintain those speeds to keep my certificate.

Must be tough to tie them down at that speed...

Maybe consider a 134.5 operator?

So, what you’re saying is, you too have picked up on all of the nonsensical medical troll posts recently. I’d been wondering if someone was gonna comment.

I can't find it now, but there's a classic FAA video out there somewhere. Made with real FAA medical folks - old pilot goes to the AME for his medical, his form is missing info, he says his alcoholism is under control because he hasn't had a drink in days, the fainting spells haven't happened in a while, the whole deal. Every time the doc asks, "Is that everything?", there's always one more thing. Might have been made in the early 80's?

I'll keep looking.

edit:

Apparently it was on the FAA medical website as a training video for new AMEs, a little humor injected into the system. I'm not sure it's there any more.

I couldn’t help but notice you said your ADHD kicked in. ADHD is a big no no with the FAA from an aeromedical perspective. Hopefully you were just saying that meaning you had a brain fart, but in case you do have an ADHD diagnosis, that’s something you may want to review 18m.

We often advise that you start with a consultation with your Aviation Medical Barista.

Well that’s great. Wish I would’ve gotten that advice prior to starting this journey. Someone on some other pilot website, think it’s ASPCA “green board”??? Well they said to jump right in and apply for a class I to see if I’ll even qualify medically. Now you got me worried. :(

Slow day at work?

All newcomers are trolls. ;)

You can log PIC if the safety pilot is wearing a hood.

Don’t know what any of that means but once I get this medical nonsense out of the way, I can’t wait to learn it.

I take it, PIC is “pilot in charge” and the safety pilot is an unattractive first officer / copilot that’s forced to wear a hood to conceal their face?

Well I wouldn’t say that. In all seriousness we do have people come here with valid medical issues that are given sound medical advice.

I was just poking a little fun. Just seems like in the last year the medical forum has blown up significantly. Sometimes I wonder if there are any new pilots who aren’t getting VA disability, aren’t on serious meds or have multiple DUIs in the past.

Man, I would hate to see Doc Bruce’s inbox. I’d have to take Prozac every morning just to get the energy to look at all the emails.

"A face for radio."

Barista sharmista. Go to a real bar tender. None of this lah-de-dah fancy ass not even real coffee stuff.
Welll, yeah, but one would think that an Aviation Medical Barista would know more about the MedXpresso than a spirits slinger.

I'm not sure if this is what them EffAyyyHars had in mind about that.

As long as your undiagnosed pain is not being treated with narcotics you are good to go.

Most otherwise disqualifying issues can be resolved by buying @bbchien a few drinks.

In your situation, a case of single malt scotch might be necessary. Plus a bale of California weed...

He’s a former P-3 driver. They probably drink Zima. :D Personally not a Scotch fan, just beer for me. I’m a light weight when it comes to drinking.
