I don’t recall seeing traffic excess being handled this way in my corner of the country; 20min b4 departure I happened to open FF & a banner (which was not there during my 10am looksee) on the airport page appeared when I was checking the metar - indicating only scheduled carriers were permitted noon til 2pm.

I called Leidos and the briefer made some calls, comes back, ‘sho-nuff - you Pt91ers are sol for 2 hrs, popup notam for traffic excess’
No biggie, EDC Austin exec was lightly traveled, (although gas close to 2x our MillionAir rate; longer commute for pax).
(Also out of (24x365) hours in a year, a few here and there are not intolerable)

Common?
Rare?
Unpleasant harbinger of things to come?
Airline response to us ‘little guys not paying our fair share?’ lol

Wow - I've never heard of that before. :(

All the private jets for the Texas money alums going to the Peach Bowl? Or perhaps a private jet for Bevo? I remember years ago when Braniff was flying, there were 3 Orange Braniff jets for the Arkansas game as well as the bowl games. One for the team, one for the Band and one for the money alums. The flight crews became Official Honorary members of the Band for the game so they could get into the stadium for free and sat with us.

It that you Robert Crandall?

Helping get the 121 people back on their feet today from the weather and/or American's problems?

11/23 was a home game against Kentucky with a 230p kickoff. I was heading from SA to Houston that morning. Austin approach was telling all VFR FF to stay out of the Charlie because only one runway was open, and to expect an hour or more delay until the second runway opened back up. It looked like a real furball east of Austin on ADS-B.

I don't see any restriction to Pt. 91 ops. The only notam I found applies to non-scheduled air carriers.
Thanks for finding that. I can't recall if that's the wording I was looking at or not. Should have screenshot it.
Now, is there any way to see airport activity on FA, during the time involved to see if the normal amount of GA activity was going on?
Could my briefer have been given bad info?

Could have been a NOTAM mix up too. At my local airport, the manager meant to notate that the FBO was closed for Christmas. He sent in "airport closed" instead. I saw it and gave him a call and it was fixed an hour or so later.

Was this the NOTAM?

I've seen that handled by "requiring a PPR", the FBOs would not be allowed to issue a PPR during that time block, either for arrival or departure. Normally FAA would not have access to the PPR data. Standard happening at KLAS during major sporting or convert events. Not only blocks the major Class B airport, KLAS, but can also block the "satellite GA airports" like KVGT and KHND.

I have seen "flow restriction notams", but nothing that singled out non-sked air carrier.
