A very pretty speedster (Lancair IV on Controller.com)

Wow - what a machine! How much do you think they're asking for that beast?

Usually they go for 500-650K. You can get a Raptor for only 130K for the same performance. :D

apparently his hangar was too narrow so he had to modify the wings a little to fit it? :)

Quite a few flying. N
Are any flying? I cannot find any for sale.

If I had to guess, maybe 30-40 flying. Not going to see many for sale on a regular basis. The guy who did my engine overhaul was selling race car driver Bill Elliot's prop jet a few years ago. 450K asking price.

Nothing in the production world can compare to the performance of an EAB for even close the price.

oh, I thought you were talking about the exp Cozy-like turbodiesel.

Oh, no none yet. But 300 kts on only 260 hp is worth waiting for. :D 4 years of talking deposits and no flying prototypes. It's the F-35 of homebuilts.

I always wanted to build the Stallion High Wing competitor... maybe someday.

300 knots? Easy peasy. I can do that all day long in my 172*

*200 knot tailwind required. Void where prohibited by law. Your mileage may vary. See your local Cessna dealer for details.

I have seen pics of 345 kts tas in these.

What's it say, Kenny?

Sorry. Its an article about Vortecx winglet mod for the Lancair IV. Gives it a wider airspeed envelope and better stall characteristics. It was in the Oct 2015 issue. It looks similar to the plane that is now for sale in the link from OP.

Taming the Lancair IV

Vortecx winglets make a glass speedster faster, slower, and safer.
