720 powered Navion

Not just a 720- TSIO720. Take it up to 25,000 or so- bet it trues out to 230 or better!

Ryan's a hoot. He comes from a long Navion family. He does beautiful work (won the ANS flagship a couple of years ago with a GO-480 powered Navion).

I've got a 550. As alluded to, I'm not sure 400HP will do a whole lot for a Navion. Mine already climbs like a bat out of hell on 300HP and it is a law of diminishing returns to try to drag a draggy fuselage (even after you clean up all you can on the Navion) through the air 10 knots faster.

But he should blow away our Unlimited class race.

The turbocharger will be a bigger win, especially if you spend time in the teens or higher. I regularly fly mine NA 550 in the low teens (did it once at 17,000) and a turbo on it would be nice.

I seem to vaguely remember the Helio Courier had a 400. But that it was pretty much a dud, and Courier pilots preferred the H-295.

And then, there was what's his name, out in Oregon, with the giant Super Cub looking machine with a 400. What has become of that?:dunno:

I have been looking for a 550 or 520 navion ....bigger is better right:D

Check out 9TF. Our shop installed a TSIO520 in it. The paperwork going to experimental and back to normal category was most of the work. Thankfully, my boss did that.

Don't know if it's for sale or not but it never hurts to ask.
