A hint, the C-172 this picture was taken from was rented from TAG Aviation on the field... this would have been 1977. Lookit all the outside tiedowns!

It is an American base with an American DPE. I wish I would have had time to finish because my CFI was the DPE as well. He was also a colonel and was the orthodontal surgeon at the dental clinic for his day job. If HE thought I was ready for the check ride...

Yes, the "diner made from two train cars" is still there, and I had a Greek Burger. Since that first day, I've been up at Cal Poly.

First Flight. My shortest landing ever was there, back about 1992. There was a ripping wind straight down the runway and I landed and stopped the 150 just barely past the second jug handle turnout at the top of the 2 in that picture. N3424V I beleive....

Collegedale. I landed there when it was 3M3, now KFGU. My parents used to live in Harrison, so it was close to them.
