That's a bargain, the Arrow here (50 miles away from my home airport mind you) rents for $190 wet.

Hang around the airport and make friends with some ex fighter drivers, formation flying, low passes, and overhead breaks will follow. ;)

You need 10hrs in a complex plane, I don't see any reason it will take you longer than that to nail the maneuvers.

I used it up until level 6-7 then realized it was much easier to fight, and look around with a mouse/keyboard.

If you want a flying game try War Thunder, it's free and is a blast. Use mouse and keyboard controls as it's near impossible to be competitive with a joystick.

I liked the ASA books for the private, instrument, and CFII writtens..But trust me the Sheppard Air system will save you hours of studying for the written. The transition from a Warrior to the Arrow shouldn't be a big event, more right rudder and don't forget that gear lever!

When you are the safety pilot you log only the time he was under the hood. If the flight was 1.5 hours and he was under the hood for 1.2, you log 1.2 PIC. As the safety pilot you can't log XC time either.

First question will always be "What is your mission?" If you plan on flying XC's and using the IR (which is highly recommended) then why not get out of the 172 and get into something faster with IFR equip :D
