    Flashlight recommendations?

I have a red GloveLite (http://www.glovelite.com/) - I like it, but wish I would have gotten a red for one hand and white for another. The red becomes a problem as I highlight charts in red market - oops. It was $24 or so when I bought mine... its handy to put on and just wear whenever flying...

    iphone mount review

It is already out - just more expensive, for the same thing basically... except the 4 has a more beefy connecting arm. I'm not sure why you need it - the 3's is fine, just maybe 1/2" shorter. http://www.amazon.com/RAM-Mounting-Systems-RAM-B-166-AP9U-Suction/dp/B0049SQALM

    iphone mount review

'welcome. I have a few RAM items - one holds an AIM SmartyCam on the top of my racecar and has never let me down... Once you get a few mounts with the 1" rubber ball you can get the device-specific holders for under $10.. you can get diff arms and extensions and multipliers etc - lots of fun...

Question about Gerber LMF 2 as an egress & survival knife.

For an egress knife it looks a little big.. that in a real accident you'll be shaking pretty badly and nervous/anxious... good chance you'll cut a passengers gut open when trying to cut their seatbelt upside down (it LOOKED like a good idea to cut their seat belt when hanging upside down and the...

Trying to navigate (VFR) the north Florida morass...

This faa safety seminar might be helpful, even if you dont plan to land at Destin... I did it a few years ago and it was helpful if you're not familiar. https://www.faasafety.gov/gslac/ALC/course_content.aspx?pf=1&preview=true&cID=47 regards, Mike

From the FAA registry database (didnt filter destroyed or expired reg's, but I imagine its not more than a substantial amount, and should be similar across all mfr/models): regards, Mike

"Change to my frequency, 123.45" - huh?

Howdy friday afternoon folks, So in most of training, I didn't go very far.. and when I did, it wasnt under flight following. Now that I am flying around Chicago and ANG bases and such, I use it 100% when I can. Often, when I leave Grissom ARB's airspace and passed to Chicago Center, I'll...

Flying VFR in rain with 3000-6000 ceiling

Grant - are you related to the Prellwitz that runs the Hertz or National rental car in DeKalb? I saw the name on the biz card (they both were closed...) when I was thinking of renting a car and driving to South Beloit (side note - the airport offered to let me drive a courtesy car 60 miles to...
