    FAA's Registration Speed

Ted, it sounds like you received AD 2008-08-14. Do you know about the follow up, AD 2009-02-03, that just came out? It specifies a new gasket to be installed if the plug is found to be loose. Once its installed the 50 hr inspections are no longer required. Even if the plugs aren't loose, the new...

I didn't know that airplane came from Wings! I dove on it a couple of times and wondered what it's history is. Lee

    Ferry Pilot Question

What would they be checking that would indicate who paid for the flight? I've never been ramp checked but I assume they look at airworthiness and airman certification issues. I'm not making a judgement about the legalities, but I don't see how a ramp check would reveal anything that would show...

    TFRs still on charts

Well that didn't take long. http://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_9_2729.html But surprisingly it ends on Monday. Maybe it takes awhile to make it permanent (it's not like they've known since November).

    TFRs still on charts

I'm assuming (hoping) it will be like Cheney's, but who know's maybe it will cover the whole Amtrack line from Wilmington to Washington like the one last week since Biden likes to take the train :yikes:

DOH! First flight scheduled this weekend, TFR in area

We were planning to file IFR to/from an airport in the 30 mile ring when the ARMY/NAVY TFR was in effect, but Philly told us they wouldn't be giving IFR clearances.

DOH! First flight scheduled this weekend, TFR in area

But that's ATC workload permitting. When Bush was in Phila for the Army/Navy game the TFR stated that flights to/from airports in the 10 -30 nm ring are permitted with a flight plan and squawk code but a friend of mine called Phila Approach ahead of time to ask about the likelyhoold of...

Flying in WWII bomber or vintage plane, HOW?

Rob, the Collins foundation airplanes (link posted above) usually stop at KILG for a few days every year. You can also go for a ride in an SN-J or Stearman at the Air Museum at KRDG on one of their "History Flight weekends". http://www.maam.org/rides.html or during the WWII weekend show in...

Civilian GA plane lands at Willow Grove NAS, PA

I haven't heard anything about it, but its hard to beleive anyone would mistake Willow Grove for Doylestown, even at night. There's a big difference... Like about 5000 feet of runway for one thing. Not to mention the runways are oriented 100 degrees apart.
