    Galveston versus Padre Island

Tough crowd, question was if he could rent boards and if there was any surf in TX. There are occasionally decent longboard waves, and yes you can rent boards. In winter, the water is cold, but can actually get pretty nice. It is usually chocolate milk all summer long, and you'll prolly see some...

    Galveston versus Padre Island

In general, Texas is a winter surfing spot. Galveston can have some decent rollers, longboard waves. Port Aransas/Mustang Island has decent surf, once again usually longboard waves, same scenario for S Padre. The further south you go along the TX Coast, the closer the deep water gets to shore...

    Interior missing

Did the aircraft come with a utility interior as an option, like the 180/185. Mine has been stripped for years, and is no issue, as the 180 rolled out the factory line with the "utility interior". I would not understand why an interior would be required on any aircraft, though just like any...

    Nervous about flying

Regardless of hours, most new flying regimes will/should get your attention. Tread carefully, and go forward armed with the best training and information you can find. After initial PPL certificate, seek out friendships/acquaintances with experienced aviators who may offer a broader perspective...

Excited for ya, I went up there bout the same age, 19. Spent a summer in Fairbanks with a beautiful gal, she had lots of pretty friends too. Maybe all these other guys look like Halibut, cause it wasn't that bad, and I'm from TX where beauties abound. Have fun and be safe [emoji1360] Edit- just...

Manually pulling prop though in cold weather

John, I'm away from airplane and documents now, so will have to verify where I read that at a later date. After receiving the engine from last overhaul, got an email from the engine builder, which warned CMI advises not turning the "new style" adapters backwards, and that this engine had a new...

Manually pulling prop though in cold weather

If it's a 6-cyl Continental with a new style starter adaptor, do not rotate prop backwards, it will damage the adaptor spring. One compression stroke should not hurt anything, but pulling it backwards for multiple strokes is not permitted, per Continental's manual. If below freezing, pre-heat...

Will the new tax plan revitalize the Middle class and help Aviation?

Don't worry folks, all of us Latte sipping, flannel shirt wearing hipster millennial's, will mop up the huge pile of financial sh*t the previous generations have bequeathed us...thanks [emoji23] Seriously, the industries I work in will benefit, especially the family farm/ranch. The death tax...

    10" bush wheel

I don't believe there is a Skywagon pilot/owner that doesn't know what wheels he has! Fake news [emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    10" bush wheel

Most likely going to be one of those two types of wheels. There is nothing else certified for 180/185, far as I'm aware. The Gar's are an adaptor that mate to a 6" wheel, turning it into a 10," the ABW is a 10" wheel that has not been modified. Gar-Aero ABW Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Was I unreasonable?

If the plane is worth it, go get it man!!! Can't understand how a $150 Uber ride would be the go/no-go factor? It's hard to find a good ship, set the hook when u got one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
