    Korean 777 Down in SFO

Maybe under the aft cabin? Departed the pylon and was "swept" up by the aft cabin as the plane rotated on the terrain? Very surreal to watch this today.

    747 cargo down in Afghanistan

Re: Dash cam of crash in Bagram. Not for the feint of heart To be pedantic, it was a 747-400 and not a "civilian c-4 galaxy".

    KJGG Plane Crash

From this morning's Situation Report: From the description, he sounds like one heck of an airman. May they rest in peace. -Andrew

Cops searching homes in Watertown, MA

Agree. My Facebook stream has been filled with my friends from home watching LEO's stream through Boston, Cambridge, and Watertown all week. But the claim, even if law enforcement are forcing themselves into a home, that it is "unconstitutional" or "illegal" or "something that only happens...

Cops searching homes in Watertown, MA

Ohio frequently makes non-emergency travel illegal after a tornado; I know they did in my county in 2007 after a storm came through.

They aren't breaking the law. It's called exigent circumstances.

    Gulfstream Girl

The reasons, circumstances, and situation surrounding her accomplishments are beyond reproach: she had an opportunity and she succeeded at it. Quit your whining and moaning and move on, folks. It's childish, reprehensible, and frighteningly juvenile.

Suggestions about France/Italy from you worldly travelers?

Also, if you spend time in Montmarte, I would avoid eating in the area. I've yet to find a place that wasn't a total tourist trap. YMMV, though. Cheers, -Andrew

What are some of your other hobbies?

Wow. Things have really changed for me: + My daughter + Culinary arts + Photography + Learning Frankly, I do little hobby oriented stuff right now. I work, I spend time with my family, and I dabble in the above enough to keep my head from exploding. Cheers, -Andrew

Suggestions about France/Italy from you worldly travelers?

These are all amazing places, but there are a few places I would see before them, for the sheer uniqueness: San Petronio in Bologna. There isn't a church in Italy that can make you feel any smaller or insignificant (due to the complete lack of ornamentation on the exterior or interior)...

    Month old child

This. Fiona flew pressurized commercial at 8 weeks and has done it roughly monthly since. Up until we stopped nursing, this was a sure-fire way to handle takeoff and descent. Upshot is that Fiona usually slept while nursing, and then would nap for an hour or so on the plane. Thread creep...

    Question for the attorneys

While that is true, of more significant concern is the force majeure (for lack of a better term) exception to the WARN Act. Teller, hope things come out clean for you. PM if you need any help beyond the legalese. Cheers, -Andrew

    HKG Hong Kong airport

My CK friend was given his access by his company, which I think his company gets based on net spend (but I'm not exactly sure, so I'll take your work for it). If the level of service is consistent with what my friend receives, it's worth it. Cheers, -Andrew

I'm UA now and it... isn't that much of a change. Same issues, different brand. GS is basically "spend enough money", where that number is arbitrary. Someone here may disagree with me... but that's how my corporate travel department explained it to me. Cheers, -Andrew

    HKG Hong Kong airport

There really isn't any difference Plat -> 1K. The jump is at Global Services, and even then it's not huge (except for complimentary upgrades to Global First when capacity is available). Concierge Key on American is a far nicer product except for the lack of upgrades (American verifiably moved...

    HKG Hong Kong airport

I travel to the interior from time to time and it is a vastly different experience, for sure. I spent a few nights in Tunxi last year and it was surreal -- houses near the highway are pristine and modern, but just a few clicks off the road and you are in seriously rural China. While my...
