    Month old child

Have mom sit in the back with the kid is my main advice. First flight for Dylan was at 2 months, little roll up pieces of the pharmacy hearing protectors, under a headband, under an old Lightspeed headset. We just flew around locally, he wasn't a happy camper getting all that hearing...

    Night flight.. your thoughts?

This. I'm a wuss. We all have different risk thresholds. I'm just not willing at this point in my life to risk not being able to convert a pick a good spot and land in the field daytime engine out emergency into what that would become at night. Give me another engine for night flight right now.

    Night flight.. your thoughts?

Since I'm no longer comfortable with not seeing emergency landing spots, I rarely fly at night any more. I do miss it thought. It is awesome.

Looks like the Cardinal is going in the paint shed this winter. Here's what I've come up with. I'm not really finished with the Cardinal on the tail, but I want some sort of something with a wings-spread bird in flight.

Fuel Screwup Learned ON THE GROUND!

I always ran my trim up and down in the rental 172s and looked through the back window to make sure the tab traveled the correct direction. They can be rigged backward, or so I'm told.

Fuel Screwup Learned ON THE GROUND!

In my Cardinal, fuel to right tank is the standard move for level ground parking shutdown. fuel "Both" is verified in pre-engine start flow. fuel "Both" is verified in run-up flow. Flaps, fuel, trim verified in pre-takeoff flow.

    Gastons 2012 - Don't miss it

I won't know until the last minute, so it'll likely be a daytrip for me. Have a trip to MN for wife's nephew's HS graduation that weekend, but if the weather is crappy up north, we'll Gaston's it up. Should be fun!!

    RIP: Whitney Houston

I know, it was either that or, you can't trust a bodyguard who will plow up his corn to build a baseball diamond. (as we know, plowing up corn to build an airstrip is ok) Must keep job-it almost pays enough to own a plane.

    RIP: Whitney Houston

Dang you Kevin Costner! You should've stayed as her bodyguard instead of wandering around some sort of post apocalyptic land trying to deliver mail.
