    Sport pilot failing PPL checkride

If you don't care about risk or adequate flight planning or knowing how to fly the plane you choose to fly, no amount of hours will ever fix that. Tnflygirl trusted her autopilot to fly her plane, didn't know how to recognize signs of it malfunctioning, and had what seems to be little to no...

    Dan Gryder Lockheed Electra Crash

Considering that the plane only outweighs a 2023 Chevy Tahoe by about 100 pounds despite having two engines, I think the modern auto has a bit more room in the weight category to enhance safety and collisions features.

    New BasicMed regs questions

I mean, most of the time...but also, my parents were a lot scarier when I was a kid than they are now.

    New BasicMed regs questions

Pretty much - my parents called by row and you were responsible for alerting them if your seat buddy/buddies were missing from your row. We never left anyone behind, so I guess it worked!

    New BasicMed regs questions

Only during the day and only when the youngest was under two. During those years, we'd drive a lot at night and then we drove until the baby woke up or the car needed gas, whichever came first. Once we all were over the age of two, the average time between stops rose over 4 hours, closer to 5...

    New BasicMed regs questions

With little kids, there's not really a way to do it as they're going to need to go to the bathroom/diaper changed/fed at about the 2.5-3 hour mark. However, if you drive at night, it is often possible to pull it off and once they get to be eight or nine, that is an easy stretch with judicious...

    Lets make Friday 'Joke Day'!

Technically, if you're in the left lane going slower than the flow of traffic, you're breaking the "stay right if travelling slower" law, so there's no moral high ground for driving three under in the passing lane. The ticket will be for "impeding traffic", and while I don't drive slow enough to...

These folks need to be stopped.

I hereby declare that the word "no", and any word that could be construed or used in place of "no", and any word that is used in any way so as to mean, suggest, or imply a negative answer, is extremely offensive to me. I further declare that every one of you must forfeit all your bank accounts...

Southwest gets a turn in the spotlight

I think that was just the incident from Wednesday (the one in Oklahoma) as far as I can tell from searching news articles about it.

    34, feeling lost, lonely

Once you said "I do", that loophole closed completely. Sorry.

    Private Messages?

Don't worry, I was probably complaining that he's too nice to me and that makes me feel bad about how grumpy I get sometimes.

    Private Messages?

I mean, I wouldn't put it past myself to screw something up nine times in a row without realizing it, but I don't think so? :goofy:

    Private Messages?

Thanks to all of you who tried to help me troubleshoot this. I don't know what changed, but they're working again. :)

    Private Messages?

No, I tried messaging known entities as well, and I couldn't send to them, either. I don't know what is up, but it's weird. Maybe it will just go away on it's own?

    Private Messages?

It did. It seems that I can't create new conversations with anyone, but I can reply to existing ones just fine.

    Private Messages?

Can anyone else use their private message function today? I have tried three different browsers on three different devices, and none of them allow me to "find" other members. When I type in the username into the recipient bar, nothing comes up and when I try to hit send with a properly typed...

Did not know about ADHD restrictions when I got my medical. What do I do?

Sounds to me like the pilot in discussion had very bad judgment and should not have been flying, if you go by my metric you quoted. If he crashed that many times and took that many unmitigated and unnecessary risks, he sounds like he has nearly singularly bad judgment. There is a difference...
