Masters of the Air--coming to Apple TV

Agreed. Maybe we’re just not that discerning, but it didn’t bother us in the least.

That sounds wrong. Physics is not my forte, but is it not the mass that’s being accelerated that causes the recoil? Pretty sure a very light bullet - or just a wax plug in a blank - would have much less recoil than a heavy bullet, even given equal powder charges.

Thinking about an EV (nvm, bought one)

Thanks. I wasn’t clear on the terminology, nor whether the brake pedal on a Tesla did bump up the level of regen.

Thinking about an EV (nvm, bought one)

I don’t know if this qualifies as “blended”, but from Tesla: ”To experience the same amount of deceleration whenever you release the accelerator pedal, regardless of the state of the Battery, you can choose to have the regular braking system automatically engage whenever regenerative braking is...

Daughter wants a fun car, dad wants something more practical.

Even better if your can find one with a V8!

Daughter wants a fun car, dad wants something more practical.

I was about to offer the same advice. A used Honda Civic Sport with MT would be a nice combination of sporty, reliable and efficient.

Not 100% sure what you’re asking, but Teslas give the option of automatically applying brakes when one-pedal driving if regen is not enough to get you stopped. Full explanation here, with embedded videos: https://driven2drive.com/blog/the-ins-and-outs-of-tesla-regenerative-braking/ Note...

[NA] Who's enjoying this "arctic blast"?

I was under the impression Tesla did a LOT of cold weather testing. They’re quite popular across Scandinavia after all. Googling reveals their cold weather testing is done in Alaska: https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/tesla-alaska-exclusive/

Thinking about an EV (nvm, bought one)

I thought about similarly categorizing what grade oils I have on hand and correlating them with which vehicles they go to. But that’s exactly what I want to leave behind as more things go electric. So screw it!

    Advanced Avionics vs. Conventional instruments

For me, ”Track Up” is a no-brainer. Key words? “For me”. With “North Up” I find myself turning my head a little to orient myself with L/R and calculating where things on the map are in relation to me and the plane. BUT… I’ve come to realize not everyone is cognitively wired like I am, and...

Thinking about an EV (nvm, bought one)

I would love to not have to deal with oil ever again! I have a comparable amount of oil at the GA house as well. And yet I STILL sometimes don’t have the grade I need! Not going to happen in my lifetime, but there will surely come a time when this will be seen as the ”dark ages” of ICE. As...

Thinking about an EV (nvm, bought one)

Yes. We often decide to sit/shop/walk the dog/for a a bit longer, as long as we’re there, to pick up some extra “cushion”. The software can also look ahead to see if a particular SuperCharger is at or near capacity, and it will automatically reroute you to one that’s not. As you drive, you can...

Thinking about an EV (nvm, bought one)

We’ve been north to Ottawa and south to Key West with dozens of trips in between. I would be forthright enough to admit it if we felt we were “sacrificing“ anything, “huge” or otherwise. We don’t, and enjoy road tripping in our Tesla more than any car we’ve ever owned. Stipulated: NOT saying...

On the plus side, the Fort Valley SuperCharger is at a Buc-ee’s! Love them Beaver Nuggets! That said, here’s that trip for our Model 3 Long Range from near Knoxville: Fewer, shorter stops, every couple of hours. We’ve made that trip or similar many times, and have never found the charging...
