How is the weather looking between you and this?
C'mon man, you've been around PoA long enough to know that you never ask that question seven days out!

One, maybe. None is better.

Reminds me of when a bunch of us were at @AdamZ's house, sitting on the patio eating cheesesteaks, watching the stars through the "200 foot overcast" from the previous day's forecast. And yes, making fun of everyone who canceled a day early.

What's everyone planning for engine preheat at 3T0?
I’m not sure if my jackery battery can drive the preheat. It absolutely would not drive a tug.

I will be in a car so I can shuttle people from satellite airports

I bought one of them pizza ovens that makes a pizza in about a minute.
I am going to bring the oven, a propane tank, and have my wife whip up soma sauce and crusts.
Maybe lunch or dinner one day we crank out our own pizza masterpieces. I will bring standard toppings.

Pineapple? ;) :D

Seeing temps in Dallas going back down into the 30s and even 20s at night, I'm staying in Florida for a little longer which unfortunately means I won't attend the inaugural version of this meet-up.

I'll be praying to sweet baby jesus every day this week that the wind forecasts improve.
Otherwise eating a 45kt headwind there, and then return just in time to catch a headwind on the way back

I thought we weren't supposed to talk about the weather....

Multi-modal?
You gonna be a hobo train hopper half way there and then Mooney it the rest of the way?
Flying company metal from Seattle (who could that be?) then train to get car from O’hare to home airport, then Mooney. It’s going to be a lot of sitting on my arse in one day. 2242 miles spread over 24 hours. Then again, company has had two return to gates for this flight the last two days, so plan B is just company direct to DFW. Which makes a whole lot more sense but I’m a masochist…erm…the Mooney gives me wings.

For those of you who've been into 3T0, what's it like with a stiff crosswind?

Damn I'm sorry I'm missing this. A couple members graciously offered rides, but with a bunch of school related activities this weekend (that we totally would've ditched if we had our plane back), it's just not going to happen. I look forward to living vicariously through the after action reports. Actually I think it's going to be about the same temperature here, so I might just go outside and drink a beer.

Just like that….becomes a mod and starts skipping the flyins. No accountability, I say.

And yep. Like all PoA flyins we will drink a beer.

It gets a little sportier after you go below the tree line, but nothing too bad.
On takeoff, there's a hump that will bump you into the air early so watch your airspeed.
Thanks. Looking like 15g20 from a crosswind on Friday (and all weekend really).

And on landing, @kaiser will bounce over that bump and three others
I'm in a faster plane - so i'm going for 5 this time. But also it's a plane that doesn't like landing, so I might be the first ride from GYI.

Also word on the street is there's a Southwest Bonanza Society lunch on Saturday at 3T0.

My airplane is still getting avionics work done so I won’t be able to join, plus have a few things to do this weekend. Catch you all on the next one.

Currently VFR, Scattered at 12,000
15kt wind out of the south.
Rwy is 07/25 Highly suggest landing 25 and departing 07

Tall trees along both sides of the runway which will mess with your X-wind correction once below the tops.
Bump in the runway that you won't notice when landing but will pop you up early on departure.
It is a very well manicured runway, no mud or ruts.

Land, taxi back 100 feet or so and push tails back to the south along the runway. They have a handful of tiedowns (maybe 5).

On field restaurant shows open 11- 9 Friday and 8AM - 9PM Saturday and Sunday.

If we need anything I will have my car and there are some stores about 10 mi away.

I was really hoping I could sneak out there for this, but it just isn’t going to work out. Probably just as well, since Bryan decided to start this fly-in during the one year I choose to do Dry January. :) Have a great time and safe travels to all.
