R22 down at KLVJ 10/27/24

Said serious injuries but looked like he walked away fine. Maybe a cut on the head or something.
 
I noticed the tail rotor assembly preceeded the helicopter across the ramp. That can cause problems.

yeah it looks like he was already spinning prior to that though. You can hear an impact and then the end of the tail boom comes flying by.
 
I'm wondering what the plane was doing there. Ramp parking is not normally in that area. Bad luck....I hope he has good insurance.

Had the helo gone in the opposite direction, it could have been a lot worse. Transient ramp parking, then the fuel depot.

The Cessna was parked at their private hanger and the part in front of the hanger belongs to them too.

The helicopters work off of 2 pads across the taxiway just out of the video frame. The Cessna had every right to be there.
 
You would think as long as the R-22 has been around, they would have the bugs worked out and would have a stable version. I try not to use much beta ware.
 
I used to fly in the pattern with that exact chopper. Wow

That would require a redesign and loss of their market position.
