That Citation grew a Mooneyhawk!!

Had these guys land in the school yard for a STEM event:

Two of my favorites, fancied up a bit and both hanging as “paintings” in our hangar home:

Is that a 3rd ID insignia on the door?
It is. I’ve heard some call it the “cracked TV division.” Those were all painted over when we left the aircraft in the desert for 10th Mountain to use. They were worn out aircraft.

Now that I think of it, my CE took that pic and I was on the controls.

I was 3ID in Germany and First Cav in Texas.

Rolled this Yak 18 out of the hangar yesterday. It's going to be dismantled and shipped to a museum in China.

Too bad it's going away, nice looking aircraft.

On the topic of nice looking aircraft, while the F-35C is a capable replacement, I still consider the Harrier to be the most visually appealing VTOL aircraft.

Our (non) bent wing Archer in front of Bent Wing aviation Fernandina Beach FL last week. At least the outer panels are close!

I'm curios about that pod on the wing of the Corsair. Stowage for old laundry? Radar? Legitimately curious.

A1 & VM1…the Clinton years.

Clean wing - Must be coming home from a Profile A post maintenance test flight.
Taxiing out for take off but yeah doesn’t look like anyone in the back either. Taken right after my first flight in country. Heard the distinctive sound of a Prowler behind me and snapped a shot.

Likely a guy in ECMO 3 seat, the left rear, there are some things that need done back there in certain emergencies so you had to have someone in back unless you were staying the pattern like FCLPs ( field carrier landing practice) you had to someone there.

Thought this was pretty cool at sun ‘n funIMG_0430.jpeg

Fire Hawk. Asked about hiring. 12 on and 12 off. No thanks.

Prison escape?
I personally know a guy who was held at gunpoint on the side of the highway by a state trooper because he decided to wear his orange flight suit on his way to work. Got a flat tire and trooper pulled behind him as he was changing it. Took a bit of splainin'. Then the edict came: nobody drives to work wearing their orange jammies. You change when you get there.

Looks like it's still at VAC, on loan.
