At least it's warm out of the South. ;)

Geez.... That is a light breeze here in Wyoming...:wink2::lol:..

The baro pressure pretty much explains the conditions..:yesnod::yesnod::yikes:

Yup. Fit for neither man nor beast out there right now. Also a great excuse not to fix the fence boards that fell down last week. ;)

Eh, damn near straight down the runway....

The trick is to get the plane untied or out of the hangar and not have it fly away before you can get in it..:wink2::hairraise::hairraise::idea:

The hangar row is north-south... Might just be able to apply power and lift off straight ahead with the STOL kit. ;)

With the flaps down for pre-flight it'd probably lift off with no one aboard. :)

ok, how did you post an idevice screenshot? I can capture, send to or save from email -but when I click manage attachments on POA from the ipad, the 'add file' buttons are greyed out.

Tapatalk. It posts an image link and the file is uploaded to, and hosted on, their server, not PoA, if you look at the raw HTML.

In San Diego, for the last few days we have been having some pretty good winds, heavy rains. I listened to the ATIS at KMYF yesterday and the winds were 270@30G38. The runways in use were 28. Sky few at 2,500 visibility was 10

I decided to drive over and check my airplane to see how it survived the storm. There was actually a guy doing touch and goes in a Cub. Very cool, but not something I would have tried in my Warrior if I didn't have to. He had the whole place to himself though.

I was quite aware of that!

It was pretty bumpy the whole way over at 250; we were above most of it on the way into MTJ at 320. There was no way ZDV was going to let us up that high going into APA, though. I only hit myself in the face with my mayo covered ham wrap a couple of times...

That approach was fun. Loooots of strong down drafts in the area, right down to the runway. I carried twice as much power as I should have needed for half that approach. The plane is usable again, though, so I count that as a win!

Another excellent example of why to avoid ketchup at all costs. :)

 Unfortunately mayo on dark navy pants is almost worse than ketchup on a bright white shirt...

PIREP, however - the Lightspeed Zulu mic works great even dunked in mayo (and wiped off).

Weather is relative. What seems abnormal in some places is a daily thing in others. One strip I used to operate out of recorded hurricane force winds on an average of 130 days a year. Springtime in the Rockies is great for stuff like this!!! Here in Oregon in the Columbia River gorge is KDLS, The Dalles, OR. They get frequent high winds, and one weekend my wife and I dropped in for fuel and a quick bite and I watched a Champ flutter to a landing roll that looked to be about 75ft. in 40kt winds. The pilot got on the Unicom and asked if someone could come out and hold his wings so he could taxi in!!!
