#12 Mississippi state beats #6 Texas A&M, and

#11 'Ol Miss beats #1 Alabama.

Wow. The Egg Bowl aught to be an impressive game!

Had to love the Ol Miss victory ,despite most of the clls going against them.

This is why I love college football. You just never know who is gonna rise to the occasion and beat you.

Nebraska -v- Michigan State tonight at 7:00 CST. Gonna be a barn burner with Ameer Abdullah running for the Heisman Trophy.

Maryland oughta rethink that move to the Big Ten...

Go Ole Miss! Love the sway the flushed the Tide!!

Right now, we're smoking LSU, too.

War Eagle!

Go dawgs! I was gonna go to the game but decided against it. Did t want to deal with the traffic. So I stayed home and bush hogged the land. Mstate is going to impress this year so hold on!

It's a barn burner alright. But not the type you hoped for. :)

This is a great year for college football. IMO no clear cut awesome team. I think there are several teams with a legitimate chance at the NC. Unlike other years where it seems like you knew who was going to win by week #2.

Agreed completely. It's a fun year. (Unless you're a Michigan fan.). :wink2:

#2 Auburn vs #3 Mississippi State this Saturday in Starkville @ 2:30 CDT. Wow. That's going to be an interesting test for State.

MSU has been hovering right out of the spotlight for a few years now. They've played some pretty good games over the past few years, but haven't had the ball bounce their way. Now they have some key pieces in place and the ball is bouncing their way. MSU is going to be tough for the whole season.

I think Ole Miss's bubble is going to burst before the end of the season. They went from less than 'so-so' to 'we are the champions' too quickly. I doubt they will have the grit to keep the momentum through the end of the season.

No matter how you look at it, SEC West is stacked!

BTW -- ROLL TIDE!

Both MS schools should lose this weekend. :)

This will be a really good game. Auburn should be rated #1. FSU had to go to overtime to beat #22 Clemson while Auburn stomped #15 LSU 41-7. War Eagle!

Agreed!

NU has a by week so I don't have to worry!

Ole* Miss. Hotty Toddy! It's amazing what a good coach and AD can do. Mississippi State has yet to play anyone noteworthy

I'm curious what caused them to be moved past FSU. It seems quite unusual for an undefeated #1 to be deposed like that.

I don't understand the ranking system altogether. Over the past couple weeks there have been some odd rankings that have come out.

I was reading an article, and I think it boils down to strength of schedule. With the exception of Clemson, no wins over ranked teams. Of course, they play notre dame so this could help change some opinions.

I have to admit, after years of watching Auburn, LSU, Alabama and then A&M in the west, I was caught off guard with the Mississippi teams. More power to them b/c they are making for a very interesting year.

I think you're right. MS State played three top 10 teams over four weeks. That's a tough schedule -one of the toughest in the country to date I think. I think their remaining schedule favors them, but we all know all it takes is overlooking a single opponent and the wheels can come off fast.

That is true! Looking at the schedule the next tough one would be Alabama..heck maybe even Arkansas but doubt it. I hope they hold up thats for sure. Half way through and a lot can still happen.

All of them were overrated imo. Auburn is the only one still in the top 20... MooU's horrible defense will catch up to them

We'll see the bears at the end of November.

I've seen Blindside, so I know Rebel passions run deep, but ... I think you're in denial. That's OK, one way or the other, November 29 will be interesting. I see tickets are going for > $350.

We at MSU would like to formally thank the Care Bears for making our win over LSU look a lot better now. Our lack of defense may catch up with us but the Care Bears lack of offense was spectacular tonight. Your D got 4 turn overs :rofl:and the O only put up 7 points :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Hawty Tawty :rofl::rofl:

Really, what the hell is it with that mascot? Did Oxford really succumb to PC, and not want show what a Rebel is?

Close game last night for state. I thought they were gonna loose and I was gonna blame it on me since I went to the game. Dang was it cold and windy! Some poor choices made thats for sure but they pulled through thankfully. They will not beat bama playing like they did last night.

Yep, they can no longer use colonel Reb... So they have a bear :dunno:

The decision to 86 colonel Reb was deeply unpopular with everyone except the admins who made the decision. On the plus side, the bear is less ridiculous than the other two proposed mascots "Hotty and Totty" and the Landshark. The actual mascot that the students chose was "admiral ackbar"

Oh and the band is also forbidden from playing the song From Dixie With Love.
