What is "Hippie Juice"?

You need to introduce it into the exhaust, not the fuel tank. Maybe we can rig you up some sort of relief tube...

Ding Ding, we have a winner!:D this caustic liquid is poured into a SEPARATE tank next to the fuel tanks on newer trucks. It's purpose is to "clean" the exhaust system. :mad2: it's about $10.00 per gallon and a Ford truck holds 5 gallons and will last 7000+ miles. We had a customer pour it into his fuel tank and it trashed the fuel system, $12,000.00 estimated repair!:yikes::yikes: It's basically an EPA mandate on all new diesel trucks including the big boys.
alternatively you could view it as the greatest thing since sliced bread and fried pickles. It doesn't "clean the exhaust system" it reacts with a catalyst to eliminate NOx emissions. That means you no longer care how much NOx the engine makes, so you can advance injection timing and get back to the great fuel economy we had in the late 90's. And it's not "caustic" it's a very weak solution of urea in water, you can rub in on your hands. SCR is the magic bullet that allows diesels to continue their huge fuel economy advantage over gas engines in a time of stringent emissions standards. BTW if you buy urea in bulk it costs about the same as diesel, nowhere near $10/gallon.

most likely they're talking bout home brew bio-diesel. I tinker with ovw's and constantly have one or two old rabbit diesels for sale. i thought hippies were extinct before i started advertising old vw's.

I'm not a hippie and I don't live in IL but if I did I'd be knocking on your front door about those VWs! Rabbit trucks or the cars?

You might be able to rub it on your hands, but it will screw up a fuel system! :dunno: We only sell it in bottles, not bulk, so I think our retail price is $9-10.00.

yes, dumping water in your fuel system is generally not recommended. That's been true since rudolph diesel

Although dumping it into the induction system can do some amazing things.

Canned beer is older than sliced bread by a fair margin.;)

Just goes to show, we have been lowering our standards for years. We could have been saying: "It's the greatest thing since canned beer". Instead we dropped it down to "sliced bread"!

Maybe not. It could also mean something is as good as sliced bread, but not as good as canned beer.
