And what do you put it on?
I bought a jar because I'm a sucker for anything, pickled, spicy, sour, etc
I tried it on a spoon so far.

What it's this stuff? And seriously that was the best thing they could think to call it?

Here's ours:

A rescue we named Chowder!

That's a beautiful dog.

Who's the little guy in the background?

well, all I can add is that several lady friends of mine would say I'm quite good at it...

:goofy:  :goofy:

My west Texas cousins made & consumed it. IIRC it's a relish-type condiment. I never acquired a taste for it. Then again, I've never acquired a taste for relish either.

Looks like something you may not want to eat to much of, in one sitting anyway. I've had it here and there, don't miss it if it's not around. With the home made stuff there are endless variations.

I remember home made 'pickled fish' as a youngster, we fed it to the dog when no one was looking.

I got nothing on the chow chow front, but if you like spicy stuff, my mother-in-law makes sliced candied jalapeños that are my go-to for dang near everything. Sandwiches, pizza, hot dogs, eggs ... I've even tried them on brownies and they are awesome. I've seen them in some in country stores, but none of them have been as good as hers.

She made me some candied habaneros once, too, and they tasted AMAZING!! The problem is I temporarily lost sight in my left eye, couldn't feel my right toe for a week, and hazmat was called every time I used the facilities. After about the 5th time that all happened, I called it quits on the habaneros.

I am in...!!!! Sounds very tasty..!!!

It's a pickled vegetable relish. I've seen it made with all sorts of things from onions and cucumbers to green tomatoes to eggplant.

It's excellent and it can be used on anything from hot dogs, brats, pizza, chip dip, etc. Always have a jar of the hot style in the ice box. The stuff we buy is cabbage based.

My buddy's sister-in-law makes an outstanding pickled jalapeno relish. Load that up on a brat, or other grilled sausage, with some spicy mustard and you'll never go back.

I rub it on my feet to kill toenail fungus, athelete's foot, plantar warts, and ringworm.

Don't try it for jock-itch.:yikes::no:

I've never heard of the stuff. Interesting.

It is primarily pickled mooseknuckle.

Love Chow Chow.....

Great on Pork Chops, mixed in with mashed tater, Chicken, etc etc ...

Yummy...

Bad news is they don't sell it out here in Wyoming...... It is a southern thing...

Order white beans at Cracker Barrel, and ask for a side of chow chow to put on it.
