What do pilots want...

Cheaper than that! I get the 4 packs of the 3M stick on hooks ar the Dollar Store for a buck. Best thing they came out with since Post-It notes.

But every motel room I have ever been in had facilities for hanging clothes.
There are two things I never do at hotels:

1. Hang up my clothes (or use the dressers)
2. Get ice from the ice machine.

#1 is because I live on an island and barely wear clothes, so there is rarely anything to hang up.

#2 is because I know what kids do to ice machines. lol

We get around the ice machine problem by supplying clean ice at the front desk upon demand.

I'm an active person, so is my wife. We like to go out and do stuff outside of the hotel area. Hiking, mtn biking, running, swimming. There's gotta be stuff to do in the area, or we probably will go somewhere else.
Aside from 15 miles of white sand beach, we now have miles of wooden decks built over the wetlands in an area called "The Nature Preserve at Charlie's Pasture".

I'm not a big birding fan, but I have to admit to having my breath taken away when hiking in the preserve, watching as hundreds (thousands?) of herons, cranes, and other types of birds all take flight at once. It's a sight to see.

There's also an alligator or three in the preserve, but I've never seen them.

You just laid out the draft of a website front page remake. Do you know anyone with an airplane that can help you get pics of the beach and the nature trail?:D
Can you get a shot, or a video of a flock of herons taking off? A pic of the gator? Put that "above the fold" on your web site and I guarantee you more people will click through and check you out.

Heh. Great minds think alike. We had exactly that on our website when we first opened.

Unfortunately, the general public doesn't put a lot of effort into verification or accurate observation, and we received complaints that they thought those views of the beach were visible from the hotel.

When they learned that we were quite puposefully NOT right on the beach (we looked at properties right on the water, and there is no way I would want to own one), prefering to be walking distance to the bars and restaurants, they weren't happy. So, I ditched that page entirely.

Better to have fewer (but happy) guests, IMHO.

If I'm staying more than a night or two, I usually unpack in to the closet hangars and dresser.

Jay,
We don't particularly like eating in our hotel room. Would you be amenable to having our breakfast delivered to a picnic table,or to the pool area or somewhere outside with a little bit of scenery? Of course, we could always take it from our room ourselves after it is delivered, but that sort of takes away from being waited on.

And we like our coffee really really strong. Can you make it like that for us?

I'm thinking maybe mid-June.

I actually prefer the breakfast buffet that many hotels include. I'd rather see the food and take what I want, than get a fixed quantity of unknown food delivered to my room. I might want more of one item, less of another, etc.

You could do a buffet with "delivery" service for those who want to eat in the room.

The idea of the delivered breakfast is that you don't have to eat it...anywhere. Most eat it in their room, whilst lounging in bed -- but you can take it to the pool, or, hell, take it to the beach. It's delivered in a big plastic basket.

WRT coffee -- I'm a coffee fanatic and despise the colored brown water most hotels provide. We provide a 10-cup filter packet of Wolfgang Puck coffee, to be brewed in your own 10 - cup coffee maker -- none of those horrible little 1 or 2 cup "coffee" makers in our hotel!

If you want it stronger (as do I), add less water.
:)

You order what you want at check in.
