I installed a new external antenna on my Lancair which greatly improved com reception range and clarity. The radio still breaks squelch frequently on some frequencies. What causes this? I have tried pulling circuit breakers to see if one will stop the noise but so far nothing made a difference. I have seen squelch break before with some 12v chargers; I don't think this is the issue.

The radio it's connected to is a Garmin GTR 200. I have entered the setup menu and tried adjusting the squelch; from 0-10 seems to make zero difference in squelch break or reception. Not sure why that is the case.

Never mind, apparently, I can’t read.

I know some led lights can cause rf interference...I have read that some elt's have been known to cause issues as well.

More pilots and controllers keying their radios on the same frequency in relatively close proximity.
