I want to play my bass guitar with headphones so only I can hear how terrible it sounds while playing along to a source of music such as my phone or my IPod. I have an amp with a headphone jack, but I want this to be small and portable.

What do I need, except talent of course?

I have one of these (I have the "Classic Rock" version), and it will do exactly what you want, so I imagine the one you posted will as well.

If you find where to purchase "talent", please let me know as well.

I was browsing as you were posting and found exactly that. They have a bass version as well.

Looks like exactly what I need. Thanks.

That looks like it would work and it's got the aux in you need as well. I didn't see that on the Vox RussR posted though maybe it's there. I use my TASCAM digital studio board for this but obviously it's not portable.

I saw that too but yeah it isn't portable. I built my bass a few years ago (Carvin copy) after getting rid of a Fender Precision that I've had for years. With everyone staying home these days I need to get some practice in to occupy my time.

I joined "Scott's Bass Lessons" online but I haven't had time to actually do any bass lessons. Between work, home remodeling and dance studio repairs and upgrades I'm cranking...

Here's my "Franken-bass": A Gibson Grabber that is defretted and has a new set of DiMarco pickups. It sounds great but I need to practice.

I think the Spark positive grid amp does this. I should be getting mine delivered soon. Not sure if it will work with a bass.

I bought a Line 6 POD some years ago. It has headphone out. And, its a really cool amp modeler. I know they make them for bass also.

If you’re in a McGyver sort of mood,...

https://www.instructables.com/id/Cassette-Player-Guitar-Amp/ except use a Walkman style portable player that uses headphones.

Basically you just add an input to the player’s preamp, summed with the playback head outputs.

I built one years ago. You can pop in a cassette, or use one of those cassette adapters https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insign...VionICh19yg5CEAQYAiABEgJekvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds to plug in an MP3 player or other source to play along.

Works great.

I ended up ordering the Vox with a set of headphones. Should be here tomorrow.
