What airplane is this?

Yep it's a Playboy. The Van's RV series were developed from those. Definitely not an airplane you see very often.

Line Up and Wait
Thanks for the ID. It appeared in a field nearby and it wasn't an aircraft type I'd seen before. From the wiki page there are only 41 of these registered in the US. I doubt this was one of those 41, as it didn't look airworthy, the prop was gone.

Depends on whether the RV-1 is considered an RV or not. A lot of folks consider it the first of the line. FWIW, Wikipedia describes it as such.
