Roger Moore has passed.

He was the definitive Simon Templar and the longest serving (but second best) Bond.

Definitely sparked the imagination and admiration of millions the world over. All without controversy.

God Bless.

Roger Moore was my favorite. Probably because he was the first Bond I remember. I believe the first one I saw was A View to a Kill. I love that one

The "best" Bond is usually the one you saw first.

But Connery #1 regardless. Dalton #2.

RIP, Roger.

I think Connery made the best James Bond, but the Roger Moore Bond movies were the best ones IMO. I like 'em all though. Even George Lazenby.

View to Kill may have had the best title song (Duran Duran).

But you'll never beat Sean Connery and ***** Galore's flying circus with the fleet of Cherokees.

A View to a Kill was perhaps one of the worst Moore Bond films, which probably is why it was his last. My favorite Moore one was For Your Eyes Only.

Dalton I could never stand. The others are hard to choose between.

Worse than Moonraker? Really?

Roger did have the BD5J, even if he did bust FAR91.151 (maybe 91.3b took precedence?)

Goldeneye was the first Bond I ever saw and it's still my favorite. I always thought Moore was very good though.

Daniel Craig just never clicked with me. I thought most of the new ones were good but it just never quite felt like a Bond movie for some reason.

All the Bond actors were good.... personally I like the Bond girls better... But hey, that's me..

#1 Eva Green
#2 Sophie Marceau
#3 Kim Bassinger

If you're talking Bond girls.. I mean ladies...

Hands down, no further discussion needed. Ursula Andress -- Honey Ryder in Dr. No.

My favorite Bond (Moore) helicopter scene:

This is a great scene, although probably not for the intended reason.

Are you serious? Better than "Goldfinger", "Thunderball", "License to Kill", "Live and Let Die" or "You Know My Name?"

Roger said Sean was the best killer, while he was the best lover. I enjoyed the smoothness of the Roger Moore Bond. Sean Connery had a semi-smart-alec smirking attitude that I found off-putting.

For sure Roger was the best Simon Templar, the Saint.

I HATED the Brosnan Bond.

"Do you expect me talk?"
"No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die"

Okay, maybe "Live and Let Die" The good one, not the Guns and Roses version.

Which brings to mind a funny story... when GnR did it I was in high school and some other kid didn't know it was a cover. I'm like, you've never heard of Wings. Or the James Bond movie that happens to have that song in it? Hello!

Wow, Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings? Far out!

At least Moonraker had Jaws.
And of course:

I leave you tonight with this. RIP, Sir Roger Moore

Yes, that.

Casino Royale was good. Skyfall was great. Spectre was sort of OK. QoS was blah.

Yes, that

Might seem blasphemous, but the Connery era was not my favorite even though I think Connery is the quintessential James Bond. I like the heck out of Sean Connery, but the early Bond era movies just didn't have the technology going for it. I always said, Connery would have been unbeatable as Bond if he had come along later in the series.

George Lazenby did fine. On Her Majesty's Secret Service wasn't a very good film, but I don't blame it on George.

Roger Moore was the second best Bond, but I like his movies the best. I pretty much like all of his Bond flicks, although a couple of them are a bit cheesy at times. He had just the right demeanor for bond, but didn't seem to exude the physical toughness that a 00 Agent should probably have. For Your Eyes Only is my all time favorite Bond film.

Timothy Dalton.......I want to like him, but he just doesn't have enough of a mean streak in him to pull it off. Gotta be suave, gentlemanly, yet cold, and Timothy just didn't do it for me. Seemed like a bit of a wimp. The Living Daylights wasn't bad though.

Peirce Brosnan had most of the qualities of a good Bond, but he was a little bit of a worm. I don't know how to describe it. He did okay. Goldeneye is right up there with my favorites. The World is Not Enough was pretty good. The other two weren't very good.

Daniel Craig.......Dude had all the physical toughness and athleticism, but was otherwise had no other Bond qualities. I'm actually a big fan of his in other roles, and he did good in the Bond flicks, but he shouldn't have been cast as Bond. Just doesn't fit the bill IMO. I guess I get that he's supposed to be the younger James Bond before he became the refined killer. Just one problem, we was already 40 when he started. That said, Skyfall is one of the best Bond films ever. Spectre was pretty good also. Casino Royale was okay. Quantum of Solace sucked.
