Want to know your neighbors name and phone number?

Pretty cool!

You could send out a party invitation from the guy with the barking dog! Won't he be surprised when the whole neighborhood shows up looking for free beer and hot dogs.

Scary (and a bit creepy).

I agree.

I wonder what their source of information is. All my bills (including phone and taxes) come addressed to Steven Foley. Steven is my middle name, not my first name. This site lists my first name with "S" as my middle initial.

My guess would be town census data with cross referenced telephone numbers. How else would they have the names of other residents.

I wish there were some way to claim that personal information is intellectual property. After all it is your personal story. I would argue no one has the right to use that data for profit without paying royalties.

Check the recorded deeds.

I look up folks quite often (for valid, non-stalking reasons) on other sites so this is no huge surprise?

And when they bought and how much they paid they paid for the house. I got mine from http://blockshopper.com/

It doesn't have the easiest UI to navigate but it has the real estate and tax records. You can get phone numbers from what Google and http://whitepages.com

They do have the wrong phone number for us. The number they list is a land line that is a few years old.

I tried to use this just now because I discovered a misdelivered FedEx package on my doorstep. I don't even know how long it's been there since I don't usually use the front door. The address number is wrong and nonexistent as far as I can see, and so far I haven't had any success searching for her name.

Edit: I found the phone number on the FedEx label and called her. She doesn't live in this neighborhood and was just having the package delivered to that address (which was printed wrong on the label).

The info seems to be at least 5 years old. Some neighbors listed are long gone.

Just tried it. 4 neighbors they list are wrong. I am the newest on the block. Been here for 6 months. The others have been here for 2 years or longer.

In (my part of) Texas we do not have to reveal the actual purchase price of real estate to the Appraisal Office, they will often ask you point blank what you paid (ours did of me) but it is considered foolish to reveal it. (unless your appraisal is much higher than the purchase price, I guess)
The appraised value (not the purchase prices) and taxation is easily found on the state website as well as other sites. You can look to see every piece of property that a person owns a particular county if you are interested.

It's not a whole lot different from what you can find in the white pages people search. The only difference I see is a fancy picture.

It got my neighborhood pretty much right on, only a couple of mistakes, that's why I posted it here. My brothers neighborhood in Idylwild does not exist, and he said for his home in San Diego, it was full of errors, he e-mailed me that this morning.

The name they had for my neighbor moved out seven years ago. There have been two new owners since then.

The name associated with my rental unit is not my name, nor is the name the same as any of my prior tenants... weird. I do see several names of the original buyers that are correct on other units.

Weird, my house is shown as belonging to my wife and her dead ex who died 17 years ago...we've lived in 2 different houses since then and I still get junkmail for him.:dunno:

Cool,
I just invited all of my neighbors over to the neighbor that I don't like for the Super Bowl party.

Thanks,
Terry :wink2:

Not accurate in my 'hood at all. Tons of wrong names and people who left decades ago.

i'm guessing that getting your phone number listed in there requires a landline. either way the old owner of our house (and it appears our neighbors) is listed.

It has generally accurate information for my neighborhood, but the picture it uses is way out of date; house next door is gone now, has been for about five years; house across the street is not built yet, but has been occupied for four years.

Old news. The printed Cole's directory has been around for at least 40 years. And I can check the county records for ownership, including how much they paid for the house and what type of mortgage.

I have an unlisted phone number and dont show up in their listing.

If you wish to have some privacy regarding the land records, purchase your home through a family trust with an obscure name.

Have you ever wanted to know who your neighbors are, what their phone number is, so you can compliment them on their barking dog? Perhaps organize a block party, or send out a letter? This site will tell you./QUOTE]

Pretty accurate for my neighborhood. Check out the resolution when you zoom in - pretty amazing (though the photo is out of date - two of the cars in my driveway are gone; one of them two years ago).
