In NYC that ticket wouldn't be a joke.

A former colleage of mine flew a news helicopter in NYC in the 80s and autorotated into an empty parking lot of city owned property. Claims he walked away from the incident with no harm to himself or the helicopter, except for a $150 fine.
 
I hope it's a joke! Otherwise the officer has no sense of humor! :dunno:

If it is a joke funny ha ha. However, do we really know that, and if it is not then I think some officer has a lot of explaining to do.
 
It's a joke. The ticket has stuff written on it that clearly shows it's a joke.

Kinda funny that someone said in NYC it'd be real, though. Cram people in like sardines and the level of BS goes way too high. :)
 
Don't the ticket blanks have serial numbers so the cop is going to have to mark that one in his book as "void?" In other words it's trivial to see which cop wrote it.
 
It's a joke. The Boulder County SO would take a bullet for those guys.
As we speak, there's a Blackhawk on hot standby for response to 911 calls in cutoff towns.
Also, don't confuse Boulder County (conservative) with Boulder city (Berkley by the mountains).

The ticket was for parking in a no parking zone, and parking facing the wrong direction for traffic.

And no statute numbers, etc etc. Plus parking laws don't apply to aircraft (it's not a vehicle for the purpose of the motor vehicle code).

I'll wager the conversation between the cop and the flight crew included the words "Betcha won't...."
