unique plane thread

I don't think I have seen a ribbed wing so to speak. (I know they have ribs but not built in to the skin)
Ford Trimotor had ribbed skin. It seems to me that the Thorp T-18 may have as well.

That is a variation of of a Thorp 211 made by an India company and was assembled in Dallas TX. Light sport I believe and currently not in production because of financial issues. Not many were made, but occasionally you can find one for sale in the ads. Cool looking planes though.

Hey, old thread revival! I'll jump in too I guess. I didn't see any one that posted the Airtruk!! I'm a sucker for homely airplanes lol.

There ya go.

The T-211 is kind of a neat recreation of a 1950's design. The only other plane I recall with external ribs like that is the A-2 Trojan and there aren't a whole lot of those (only 50 or so built and I know of 2 flying).

The Anderson-Greenwood AG-14, first certified in 1950 with a 90 HP Continental. The prototype first flew in 1947 with only 5 produced, this is one of only two known to still be flying.

This is the other one. It was at Reklaw in 2012. I was surprised that there was only one rudder. The right vertical doesn't move.

I don't think that is a SeaBee - this is a SeaBee (or a duck waddling across the grass):

I linked to a Seabee photo on airliners.net. The blue hyperlink text is hard to differentiate from the normal black text in this new format. The B&W photo in my post is the Waco Aristocraft.

Thorpedo 211 and it is for sale on Barnstormers.

Too F'n Low??

It isn't TF-LOW anymore, it is N registered and in the US now. I just pulled the picture from the internet since I don't have a current picture of it on my work computer. It still looks the same though.

I'm not sure if there was any meaning in the old registration or not. There could be.

^^^^Dornier?

Yes, a DO28-B1. This one has a somewhat interesting history.

This is up for restoration by a local non-profit.
