Heck, I wouldn’t want to put a helicopter down around Emory let alone a fixed wing. No good options.

So where would anybody land close to Emory and walk away? You would have to hit at least couple of thousand things I would think. Glad to hear pilot walked away.

40 years ago I had a high school buddy crash a motorcycle at Emory Medical Center. Hit a telephone pole, flew 100 feet, and landed in front of the ER. They saved his life.

"That’s what we’re supposed to do is look for suitable landing right when something starts happening, not after it's happened," Roberts said. IIRC, the weather that day was overcast or broken at 1,200'. Stuck at a ~1,000' over Atlanta with only one engine doesn't sound like a good plan.
