Serious question: What is necessary to become a Garmin, Aspen, or BK dealer? I figured any avionics shop could source any of the products and read an installation manual. Not the case?
Not sure what it takes to become one, but I know what it takes to NOT be a BK dealer any more... Any dealer that didn't sell $25,000 worth of their crap that nobody wants last year got their dealership yanked. My local avionics shop, that has been a BK dealer for nearly 40 years, lost theirs and they couldn't care less. They were mad that King was trying to get them to sell stuff that their customers just don't want, and they didn't want to be stuck trying to support things that King won't let them support any more (thanks to the new policies from a couple years ago).
