On Travel. Ariel Tweto flying around Alaska, showing tourist and local events. Looks like she's flying 182, but I can't get a clear view of the N number. Tonight - salmon fishing and hiking the Mendenhall Glacier.
 
Good to know, I’ll have to check it out. I always thought Ariel was a cute gal.
 
Loosing your creative energy....you meant to say, I would like to take a look at her landing strip.

Very cute and a sweet personality as well.

Unless she was just acting.

But it was a reality show.

So maybe that’s the real Ariel.

Interesting... I’ve been to my cable search and the Travel Channes website and, except for last night's premier, have not been able to locate a schedule or even a clue when the next episode is airing. Not tonight, not next Wednesday at the same time. Maybe "Hidden Alaska" would be a better name?

I think it’s the real her. She did a few clips with MzeroA not long ago and she acted the same. Seems like she’s a genuine lady.
 
Hopefully she has a few hours in her logbook since the checkride if she's flying tourists around... her training (and especially her long solo XC), if it was really anything like the way it was depicted on FWA, was "interesting" (to say the least).

Same thing here. Says it premiered Weds, 11/8, at 11/10c. I scrolled out to Weds, 11/15, in the guide and Expedition Unknown was listed in that time slot (the middle of an approx 6 hour block, so maybe just a placeholder).

I'm trying to respond to the "devaluing" a woman comment without sounding like a guy who devalues women :) I don't think finding her physically attractive is devaluing her. If my wife says "I wouldn't kick Brad Pitt out of bed for eating crackers", I don't think she's devaluing him as an actor, she's saying he's hot and likes the fantasy that's in her mind. Ariel is sweet and funny, but she's also a beautiful woman. Add in the fact she's a pilot, and it certainly adds to the attractiveness factor.

Ariel is Alaska pretty.

"Reality shows" about Alaska are some of the funniest shows I watch.

Mendenhall Glacier. Real bush Alaska. (sarcasm) Drive up the paved road to the glacier and follow the well maintained paths up the hill. Bring your grand parents so they can enjoy the glacier as well. Visit the tourist booths and buy your real Alaska souvenirs.

Walk to Nugget Falls. Be very careful, though. There walk way may be crowded with other people. And in case of a sudden and violent storm, bring an umbrella..... (spoiler alert, light rain showers are normal for the southeast Alaska rain forest)

Mendenhall Glacier area is very pretty area and has easy access. I flew a few ice field tours. The ice fields are spectacular.

My wife loved the area, but she really wants me to take her to some of the bush villages I used to live in up in north and northwest Alaska. A different world.

It is considered a right of passage to take the ferry to Juneau. I took the ferry from Prince Rupert, B.C. On a ferry for 2 1/2 days without a bar...... really roughing it....:lol::lol::lol:

See, this is why we can't have nice landing strips and even more so, losing landing strips almost monthly it seems. :popcorn:
 
She was also on a show called "Wipeout" a couple of times. Kind of an Americanized Japanese Obstacle course game show. She seemed cute, sweet, and goofy on that show too.

When I first went to Juneau, Mendenhall ice was at the edge of town.

You can tell when it is summer in Alaska. Tourist show up in their brand new out door bush clothes....:lol::lol:

We actually liked to visit the tourist shops owned by Russian people. They know how to haggle until you want to buy...:yesnod:

You must have been there late 50s early 60s.?

Sadly, about 98% of the glaciers in Alaska are retreating.

Summer of 58, and again 59. then not again until 2007. big difference in where the glacier ice is.
There is a very easy method to tell that all glaciers surge ahead and retreat. Every time a glacier surges forward, it pushes a wall of moraine ahead of it. Easiest to see at Portage Glacier south of Anchorage, the interpretive center is build on the last moraine wall left by the glacier. the glacier is now 4-5 miles up the valley from there.
we now see each previous wall is not as far down the valley as the one before. pretty much proves we are warming up and have been from the last ice age.

I watched the first episode on Sling.

It’s all about Alaska and Alaskans, not flying.

Ariel is shown briefly flying alone from one
location to another. But otherwise the plane and piloting does not figure into the story, which was about a solitary gold miner who invents his own gear, families fishing for salmon, and exploring an ice cave in a glacier.

I especially enjoyed Ariel and the gold miner — he matched her upbeat cheerfulness and enthusiasm.

Wow! Indeed it is N734QM. It’s the same 172 I flew this summer and recorded my Eagle Glacier video. I just saw a Facebook post from the flight school.
