Top Gun 2

I usually use something like "N201N is a Mooney..." And then after that I am "Mooney01N.." Unless ATC wants to call me something else like N01N or whatever.

Alright folks.

I broke out my Collectors Edition, 2-Disc set of Top Gun (don't hate) and here's my question:

In the graduation scene, how did they get from Miramar California to a carrier on the Indian Ocean, sitting at a mission breifing 24hours later?

On top of that, Viper tells Maverick, "If you don't get your RIO when you get your ship, give me a call. I'll fly with you." Empty promise? No way in hell there would be time to do that!

They flew their F-14s, at full burner, across the Pacific and Indian Oceans (non-stop).:hairraise:

I thought for sure the didn't take their birds with them. The wings' birds stayed on the carrier and when they were at school they used their airplanes....and I'm sure that's how it would work in real life.

Who said anything about real life...this is Hollywood!
