This was your pilot...what do you do next?

I wave at him as he's about to be injested into the # 1 engine...then walk to the cockpit and see if the co pilot needs help in "flying" the auto pilot. :D
 
This is fake news.
Everybody knows this cannot happen in real life.
Commercial pilots are locked in their cockpit behind strengthened doors specifically so they can't endanger passengers by escaping and pulling this sort of stunt.

There is an escape hatch in the cockpit.

I know I would. Don't big planes have AOA? Just shoot for L/D max and enjoy the ride. The auto pilot is flying anyway.... like every other day

The first time I flew I was 5 years old, when they showed you how to brace for impact, my dad looks at me and goes son, that means and put your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye... I was 5.

We have three escape hatches... two windows and a kick out panel.
That said, two are plug type so good luck with those, and one goes to the cabin. So......

Who are these guys that laugh at the AP flying??
You ever hand fly an airplane at FL390 for five hours??

No, but if u do not count FL I hand flew at 3900 today . Joking, I have no idea what it takes to fly anything bigger than 182.

It's not the size of the ship so much as the sensitivity at the high altitudes. It gets very squirrelly in the thin air.

Definitely would be hazardous to your health. If the passengers and/or FAs don't beat you to near death, a bullet from the cockpit might.

Hopefully the other one is still there, but either way I’d offer to help. More than happy to bow out if another airline pilot, or someone with more/better experience, is onboard. More than happy to help with radios or whatever.

It’s a plane. Unless it’s terribly low on fuel and/or off autopilot and not level it shouldn’t be a big deal if I got some details. Can’t say it would be pretty, but if I had someone on the radio with speeds and some instruction it should be survivable. Notice that me flying it is my last option. But I’m not just going to sit in the back and cry, “we’re all going to die” either.

If they smashed the radios on the way out we’re most likely toast, if I have to fly it. I don’t know how to program the FMS. I’d really want the plane on autopilot on an ILS or LPV. If the FMS will take it down the arrival even better. A 421 or PC12, sure, I could handle that without help. Those are close enough to something I’ve flown. A 737/777/787? Not so much. I’d bet the avionics alone are different enough to make it challenging.
