Years ago I set tie-down augers in my yard for visitors. The problem is that they keep getting buried and then we have to find them again. So I replaced the pieces of sewer pipe that I was using to protect them with sprinkler irrigation boxes. These have lids. A convenient additional feature is that the ropes now fit into the box.

BTW, Ron, that’s a really slick idea, but.....

Here in FL I’ve learned that those irrigation boxes are popular hangouts for snakes. I’ve found black widow spiders in them a few times, too. YMMV, of course. Be careful what you’re grabbing when you pull out a rope.

Just hope you dont open it one day to find a snake in there! I find those bastards in my pool skimmer quite often.
