No, it isn't likely, last time UBL was in a cave was in Tora Bora, well over a decade ago, since then he lived under different addresses but definitely not in caves and since Tora Bora he was never under US fire and he communicated with the outside world. If your idea is to deny that he was killed during the publicized raid you have to come up with another believable story how and who killed him or perhaps that he died under natural causes. But his wife(s) was tried in Pakistan (for illegally residing in Pakistan) as a result of the raid unless you want to deny that it was his wife. So following your logic Navy Seals conducted the raid on the house where there were wives and children of UBL however he wasn't there, poor bastards killed some really tall (over 6') innocent bearded guy who happened to be a friend of the family. And this family friend shared bedroom at midnight with UBL's favorite (youngest) wife.

The Obama administration can't run a basic website with health care information how in the **** do you think they would fake the killing of OBL?

I put the chance of truth in the story of the SEAL team killing OBL as described at something over 95%.

It would be 100%, except for the lame brained idiot in the White House who decided it was a good idea to withhold or destroy any evidence that OBL was actually the person killed in the raid.

I can find no upside to this behavior. I can find no historic precedent to this action.

Think about it: Saddam Hussein? Yup, there are pix and video of him at the end of his rope.

Mussolini? Pix and video.

Dillinger? Capone? The Rosenburgs? Pix, and usually video.

OBL? The most wanted man in the history of the world? Nothing. Nada. Zip. No forensic evidence of any kind.

No pix. No video. No body.

The only precedent that comes to mind is the Russians never finding/producing Hitler's body. For the next 60 years, there were "Hitler sightings" all over the world, and some still believe he died in South America.

There is just no upside to the "most transparent administration in American history" being opaque on this issue.

No, it would never be 100%, perhaps the percentage would even go down.
Per my understanding not much remained of his facial features after 2-3 bullets. There would be further conspiracies, accusations that there is no resemblance, etc. And it has nothing to do who occupies the White House, I would bet the decision would be the same if it was a republican president.

Samples have been taken from a good number of HVT's over the years.

As for photos, they were taken. It's just the fact you aren't cleared to see them. Thing is, if it comes out in the next few years we all were duped, I know a bunch of guys that are gonna be pretty pi$$ed.

If you don't like it, wait 23 more years and maybe it'll be declassified and you can see pics of a dead bearded guy with holes in his head.

Oh, and we all paid for that raid. Down to the guys who were on it. They are taxpayers too.

I respect people's frustrations and their need for solid proof. Sometimes you have to trust the guys doing the job, that they did it right.

Do I trust the SEAL Team? Yes.

Do I think they believe they killed OBL? Yes.

Do I trust the government to do the right thing?

Um, no.

This is the government our Founding Fathers warned us about. We should expect proof of EVERYTHING they do.

Moreover, we, the People, deserve it.

Links, please, to the following:

1. Independent autopsy reports, with photos.
2. Photos of the body taken during the raid.
3. Video from the raid.
4. DNA reports, validated independently.
5. Video of the body, and burial at sea.

For the biggest, most wanted criminal in history, this type of proof seems like the least we deserve.

Actually, a body would be the best proof of all, but that evidence was discarded...

Having the administration say that he was shot, his body was taken to a ship, his body was prepared in some Muslim tradition, and he was launched overboard and is now fish food is not "evidence." In fact, it generates many more questions than answers.

Note that I believe he was killed, but the administration has provided no evidence.

The best evidence so far has come from these SEALS that the administration has been trying to silence.
 
Exactly. This Administration has utterly failed to provide evidence of success to the citizens, and then has actively tried to suppress the SEAL team from telling their story.

I'm sorry, none of this makes sense, if you've successfully eliminated the most wanted man in the world.

OBL was the most wanted man in the world, directly responsible for 3000 American lives, and the near bankrupting of America (thanks to our government's absurd knee jerk over-reaction, resulting in the creation of TSA, Homeland Security, flight restrictions, etc.). No other single terrorist in history has caused so much long-term harm to America. In fact, the damage is ongoing.

There is no parallel between your classified examples, and what the American people deserve. Providing proof of success is the bare minimum, the very least I expect from my government.

IMHO, it's the least they owe us for the freedoms they have stolen under the guise of "security".

This post perfectly reflects the arrogance of our government. (Not your arrogance, BTW. I don't mean this as a personal judgment. I am extrapolating.)

The fact that our government feels no "need" to prove itself to the People is a perfect summation of everything wrong with our central government.

We don't need to see proof of success -- we deserve it.

I guess I don't get why you need to see a body. We went to the Moon, took pictures, movies, audio recordings and brought back samples and some still say it was faked. Other than to satisfy some sort of reality TV/YouTube thrill at gory pictures, I don't see the point.

I do get the government's position of not showing evidence and keeping under wraps as much as possible. They had serious concerns about turning OBL into a full blown martyr and rallying cry. The quicker everybody forgets about the worthless turd, the better. It's the same reason they chose to bury Hitler secretly.
 
The gov wants it both ways. They want to take credit in a big public way, but still have it be all cloak and dagger. Doesn't work well that way, I'm sure we assassinate plenty of people without taking credit.:rolleyes2:
