I remember watching the 90's film "Memphis Belle" as a kid. It fascinated me then, and I was excited to see the real Memphis Belle at the USAF museum in Dayton recently. I wanted to watch it again, and when I searched the library I discovered that it was somewhat inspired by a 1944 film of the same name. I also found out that there was a project in 2018 to restore that film, during which they found a bunch of footage that wasn't used. They restored that as well and put it together with interviews of of the original air crews. That's "The Cold Blue"
Well worth your time if you're at all interested in WWII, particularly the bombing raids. The footage is incredible. I have no idea how they restore this stuff, but it looks like it was shot in 2020, not 1943.
On a slightly sadder note, one of the special features is video of nine-o-nine.
