Takeoff Alternate???

Tell me what part of the 182 limitations allows you to depart with more weight than you are allowed to land with? The 182 allows you 10 pounds extra "ramp" weight but the max takeoff and landings weights are the same in every model I've seen.

Yeh I too don't what MAKG's talking about here. Is he saying they intentionally takeoff overweight by a good amount and then the possibility exists of still landing overweight? And doesn't he fly these 182s for the CAP?

The CAP Cessna 182R that I'm responsible for is based not far from him, and it has a higher gross weight limitation for takeoffs than for landings. The difference is over a hundred pounds. (I don't remember the exact numbers.)

Golly you are right. The 182R has 150lbs more takeoff weight than landing weight. Learn something new every day. The 182R,S,T and their turbo equivs have the 150 takeoff bonus.
